Every week, we see at least one referee and his crew with a week off, but as the bye weeks continue, that number will grow to three. However, that still means we have 14 other crews working this week, so let’s look at the Week 11 NFL referee assignments.

Shawn Smith
Shawn Smith and his crew had a huge Monday night game between the Eagles and Chiefs. They averaged over 14 penalties per game in their first seven games this season, but they have only called 16 total infractions in the last two games combined.
This could benefit the Chiefs because they average 6.7 penalties per game, while the Eagles have had 5.2 calls against them per game.

Sunday night features an intriguing penalty matchup between the Vikings and Broncos. Both teams are in the top four in penalties called against their opponents this season.
They’ve seen around 7.5 flags per game called on the teams they’re playing this season. The Vikings have only had 4.8 penalties per game called against them, while the Broncos see over seven penalties per game against them.
Ron Torbert’s crew, who is officiating the Broncos and Vikings game, is tied for the fifth-most penalties called per game with 13.44. Like Shawn Smith’s crew, they have seen a remarkable drop in penalties per game called over the last two games. Torbert’s crew averaged over 15 penalties per game and only called 15 total penalties in the last two games.
