An Early Look at Some Intriguing Matchups

    Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens

    The North remembers.

Week 7 brings us a battle of the leaders of the AFC North and NFC North. The Detroit Lions were the favorite breakout team heading into the 2023 season, and Jared Goff and Co. have lived up to the hype. With the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Green Bay Packers fading fast, it appears the NFC North is the Lions’ division.

The AFC North is far from settled and remains one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL, with all four teams at .500 or better. The Baltimore Ravens’ revamped offense had many around the league excited about their potential. The Ravens haven’t gotten it rolling yet, but there are positive signs.

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

If there is a team to challenge the defending Super Bowl champions for the AFC West crown, it is the Los Angeles Chargers. Justin Herbert and the prolific Chargers offense always play Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City tough. The Chiefs haven’t looked quite yet themselves either, but they still have the best record in the AFC, so there’s no panic here.

    Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles

What an exciting matchup this will be. The Dolphins are in first place in the AFC East, while the Eagles lead the NFC East. The Dolphins high-octane offense remains on a historic pace and hasn’t slowed down all season. An injury to De’Von Achane has been a non-factor for Miami; they have plenty of playmakers on offense.

As for Philadelphia, it hasn’t always been pretty for the Eagles, but they keep winning football games. The Miami offense will be the ultimate test for an Eagles secondary struggling throughout the 2023 season.
