The 2022 NFL season is beginning to wind down, but there is still a lot to sort out in the standings and the playoff picture. Week 13 of the NFL schedule will offer plenty of intriguing games which will alter the postseason landscape and determine which teams ultimately make it to the tournament. Which clubs have the best playoff odds heading into Sunday, and which squads can clinch a playoff berth this week?

Many sportsbooks are no longer taking bets for teams that have nearly clinched — or nearly been eliminated from — a playoff berth. In this case, those teams are the Chiefs, Eagles, Cowboys, Vikings, Bears, Rams, and Texans.

Week 13 NFL Playoff-Clinching Scenarios
With six weeks remaining in the 2022 campaign, there’s still plenty of time for the NFL playoff picture to adjust. In Week 13, only two teams can clinch playoff berths.
Minnesota Vikings Playoff-Clinching Scenarios
At 9-2, the Vikings already hold a five-game lead over the second-place Lions in the NFC North. Thus, their path to clinching the division title in Week 13 is relatively simple:
- Vikings win and Lions lose or tie
- Vikings tie and Lions lose
Minnesota is a three-point favorite at home against the Jets, while Detroit is a 1.5-point home underdog to the Jaguars. Once the Vikings clinch the division, they can begin to outline paths to wrestle the NFC’s No. 1 seed from the Eagles.
Philadelphia Eagles Playoff-Clinching Scenarios
Speaking of those Eagles, Philadelphia can’t win the NFC East in Week 13, but they can secure a playoff spot. However, their clinching scenario isn’t as clear-cut as the Vikings’. Here’s what the Birds need to happen on Sunday:
- Eagles win, Commanders lose, Seahawks lose, 49ers lose or tie
- Eagles win, Commanders lose, Seahawks tie, 49ers lose
- Eagles win, Commanders tie, Seahawks lose, 49ers lose
Given that outright ties are rare in the NFL, the first scenario is the most likely. Still, Washington, Seattle, and San Francisco are all favored to win in Week 13, so it seems improbable that all three will do down.
