NFL Madden 24 Release: Glitches, Server Issues, and Lackluster Fan Reaction — ‘Madden Glitches Are Superior’

NFL Madden 24 is here, and similar to the usual release, is being met with frustration and mixed reviews.

Every year, NFL and video game fans wait patiently for the release of the new Madden video game, and every year, it feels as if those same people end up annoyed and underwhelmed upon its arrival. Here we are in 2023, with the NFL Madden 24 release being last night, and it’s an all-too-familiar feeling for those who were eager to purchase the game.

From glitches to server issues, the fan reaction has been lackluster, to say the least. While everyone is hopeful that the new version will exceed expectations and be the best one yet, often times many are left feeling unsatisfied and hoping for more from the game.

Here are some of the best reactions on the internet of the game’s first night being live.

Many fans and loyal Madden players are frustrated with seeing the same old issues that they have become accustomed to seeing when it comes to the quality they expect from the Madden franchise.

A new year brings new hope, and although it feels as if the game always over-promises and under-delivers, it’s still early on in the game’s release date. However, not many people are all too confident that the game franchise will be able to turn it around and change the public perception of this once wildly popular game.

Buffalo Bills star QB Josh Allen is the cover athlete of Madden 24, putting a player back on the cover spot for the first time since 2021. Last year, they put the late, great, and namesake of the game, John Madden, on the cover in honor of his life in football.

Fans play the NFL Madden video game.

For the first time ever, the Madden franchise will allow cross-play. This feature allows users to play head-to-head against others on a PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S rather than one specific console. The options available for cross-play are Head-to-Head, Madden Ultimate Team, Superstar KO, and Superstar Showdown.

This year’s game launched with five players receiving the coveted 99 overall rating. It’s a rare company and quite the honor for some of the league’s biggest stars.

This year’s recipients were Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and the Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Zack Martin.
