Deion Sanders Surprises Fans With a Signing Event
Coach Prime collaborated with Sneaker Politics to bless fans with signed pairs of his Air Nike Diamond Turf sneakers. In a social media post shared by ‘Complex Sneakers’, we see Sanders dressed in Colorado colors while flaunting a Buffs cap and a pair of black shades.
Deion Sanders can be seen signing several pairs of the Diamond Turf Sneaker boxes before handing them away to the fans. The boxes contained the black variant of his signature shoes along with gold highlights. The back of the shoes contained a quote which read ‘You Gotta Believe’.

Deion Sanders had originally signed with Nike during his playing days in the NFL back in 1992. The first edition of the Diamond Air Turfs were released in 1994. However, because of a rift between Nike and Coach Prime, the trainers were discontinued before finally being revived in January.
When the latest iteration of his signature trainers were released last month, they completely sold out in a couple of minutes. This was a testament to the hype behind Coach Prime’s branding and how he still attracts a lot of fans after retirement.
Deion Sanders Celebrated the Sellout of His Signature Sneakers on Social Media
When Coach Prime’s shoes sold out minutes after release, he took to Instagram to celebrate the successful relaunch of his series. Sanders shared a photo of himself wearing the trainers and acknowledged the success in the caption after being notified by Nike.
“Nothing is new under the sun, I rocked these PRIMES & #24 at the Pro Bowl waaay back when. I also heard from @Nike that I sold out and I’m sure they weren’t saying imma ‘Sellout’ they were talking about me ‘Selling out’! Think about that baby! I’m PRIME! REAL since u 1st heard of ya boy!” Coach Prime wrote.

Deion Sanders left his partnership with Nike in 2017. The reason behind his departure was that they allegedly did not compensate him correctly for designing his own signature series. However, the University of Colorado have an exclusive contract with the brand since 1995. Thus, it looks like water under the bridge and a fresh start for Sanders and Nike.
