Ranking the Kickers in the NFL From Top to Bottom
1) Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Whenever he calls it a career, Tucker will be remembered for having one of the more accurate legs in NFL history — proven by his seven Pro Bowl nods.
Tucker continues to be accurate from 40-49 yards out, fielding a 91.7% accuracy in that range during the 2023 season, according to TruMedia.
2) Brandon Aubrey, Dallas Cowboys
Aubrey didn’t take long to ascend to No. 2 behind the decorated Tucker.
As an NFL rookie from Notre Dame following a successful two-year run in the USFL, Aubrey delivered perfection on all his 40+ yard attempts in 2023. And, 10 of those kicks came from a distance of 50 yards or more, with his most impressive from 60 yards out.
3) Harrison Butker, Kansas City Chiefs
When Kansas City needs to rest Patrick Mahomes’ arm and leg for points, Harrison Butker adds more to the Chiefs’ point totals.
Like Aubrey, Butker split the uprights on all his 40- and 50-yard tries last season.
4) Evan McPherson, Cincinnati Bengals
Best known as “Money Mac” or “Shooter” around the Bengals’ facility, McPherson has become trusted in Cincy since 2021.
He even improved on an inconsistent 2022 that saw him miss four 40-yard attempts on 13 tries — making all eight of his tries from that range last season.
5) Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles
Elliott becomes the second Pro Bowl placekicker to crack the top-5 list. The 2021 Pro Bowler only missed one 50-yard try last year, going 7-for-8 from that range. He also sent the football down the middle on all seven of his 40-49-yard attempts.
6) Younghoe Koo, Atlanta Falcons
After a rocky start to his career with the Los Angeles Chargers, Koo has been one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL since joining the Falcons.
Koo is particularly accurate on field-goal attempts for less than 40 yards, as he has made 91 of 93 attempts from that distance in his career.
7) Ka’imi Fairbairn, Houston Texans
The Texans were the NFL’s big surprise in 2023, but Fairburn has been reliably consistent in the Space City before their AFC South title run.

Fairbairn misfired on one field goal attempt last year, which was from beyond 50 yards, going 27-for-28 overall. He’s never missed more than five field goals in a season since 2017.
8) Daniel Carlson, Las Vegas Raiders
Carlson has established himself as an All-Pro for a team used to stellar kicking — with names like George Blanda and Sebastian Janikowski coming to mind among Raider fans.
The 2022 Pro Bowler has only missed four field goals or less in each season since 2020 and connected with 90% accuracy on attempts from 40-49 yards in ’23.
9) Matt Gay, Indianapolis Colts
Once beloved by the Los Angeles Rams as an accurate kicker and team captain, Gay has since become dependable for the Colts.
While he missed a career-high five attempts from 50 yards or beyond last year, a first for his career, but he still finished at 80.5% overall.
10) Greg Zuerlein, New York Jets
Completing the top-10 list is a veteran known for his reliability since 2012. Zuerlein is likely remembered by Rams fans for nailing a 61-yard try back in 2015, but last season saw him improve his FG percentage to 92.1%.
11) Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks
Myers has earned career Pro Bowl appearances with the Jets and his current team. He’s best known for making 100% of his FGs back in 2020. He led the league in FG attempts last year at 42.
12) Dustin Hopkins, Cleveland Browns
Hopkins’ first season with the Browns got off to a strong start.
In 2023, Hopkins had a career high in FG percentage at 91.6%, and he went 8-for-8 in attempts from 50+ yards.
13) Matt Prater, Arizona Cardinals
Prater is one of the league’s longest-tenured kickers, as he’s played in the NFL since 2007.
He holds this rare feat among current kickers in the league: Nailing two 60-yard tries in his career, including the 62-yarder that went over the crossbar last year.
14) Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers
Boswell is a veteran special-teams fixture for the Steelers, having been with the franchise since 2015.
His consistency from beyond 50 yards is a big reason why he’s stayed with the franchise. Boswell has never missed more than two FGs each season from that distance in his career.
15) Jason Sanders, Miami Dolphins
The 2020 Pro Bowler is one of the longer-tenured Dolphin players, having suited up for the franchise since 2018.
Sanders went perfect on his 20+ and 30+ yard attempts last year, while also hitting a combined 11 tries from beyond 40 yards.
16) Tyler Bass, Buffalo Bills
Despite missing his last attempt in the closing seconds against eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City, Bass has earned the trust of the Bills since his NFL debut back in 2020. He’s never fallen below 82.4% accuracy in any season with Buffalo.
17) Cameron Dicker, Los Angeles Chargers
He has one of the best nicknames for his position — “Dicker the Kicker.” Last season, though, witnessed Dicker nailing a career-best 31 field goals despite the 5-12 campaign the Chargers endured.
18) Jake Moody, San Francisco 49ers
Moody joins Aubrey in cracking the Top 20 as 2023 rookie kickers. Moody made 21 of 25 FG attempts for the NFC champions, but his longest came from 57 yards out.
19) Wil Lutz, Denver Broncos
Lutz was beloved among New Orleans Saints fans during the Sean Payton era. He reunited with Payton, and his 88.2% success rate on field-goal tries was a significant increase from the career-worst 74.2% figure he posted with the Saints in 2022.
20) Nick Folk, Tennessee Titans
Folk joins Prater here as the 2007 class representative. However, he produced his best season yet in the 2023 Titans debut campaign, leading the NFL with 96.7% FG accuracy.
21) Cairo Santos, Chicago Bears
Santos is entering his fifth season in the Windy City. Turns out the winds don’t affect him much. He’s surpassed the 90% accuracy mark in three of his four seasons with the Bears.
22) Graham Gano, New York Giants
Last season was a down year for the veteran Gano, posting a lowly 64.7% success rate on field-goal attempts.

However, he’s proven to be trustworthy in other seasons, surpassing 90% accuracy on two occasions since the 2017 season.
23) Blake Grupe, New Orleans Saints
He had to replace the popular Lutz in the Big Easy. But he showed a lot of potential right away as a rookie. Grupe compiled 30 made field goals, including eight in 10 tries from 40-49 yards.
24) Chase McLaughlin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
He’s been an NFL journeyman, but McLaughlin appears to have a permanent home now in Tampa. He generated a career-best 93.5% success rate on field-goal tries for the reigning NFC South champs in 2023.
25) Eddy Pineiro, Carolina Panthers
Pineiro replaced the ever-popular Gano in Charlotte, and his two-season stay with the Panthers already qualifies as his longest in the NFL. Pineiro went 7-for-9 from 40-49 yards and 5-for-7 from 50 yards and beyond in 2023.
26) Greg Joseph, Green Bay Packers
Joseph is on his fourth NFL stop and was last seen with Green Bay’s NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings. He finished with 80% FG accuracy in 2023.
27) Anders Carlson, Green Bay Packers
Joseph, however, isn’t the lone Packer on this list. Carlson made 81.8% of his attempts during his 2023 NFL debut campaign after a college career at Auburn.
28) Tanner Brown, Los Angeles Rams
Brown is the first kicker with no stats from 2023 to make the list. He went undrafted in 2023 out of Oklahoma State. But, he’ll be involved in a scrutinized kicking battle at the Rams’ Loyola Marymount-based training camp this summer.
29) Riley Patterson, Jacksonville Jaguars
Patterson is another PK journeyman, having played for four teams. But he’s on his second stint in Jacksonville, where he produced a career-best 30 made field goals back in 2022.
30) Joey Slye, New England Patriots
Slye comes over to New England via Washington, where he delivered 84.8% field-goal accuracy in his three seasons there. He’s also played for the Panthers, Texans, and 49ers.
31) Will Reichard, Minnesota Vikings
Reichard comes to the Twin Cities as the 203rd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. For Vikings fans wondering if he can handle big crowds, it’s worth noting Reichard became the NCAA all-time scoring leader while playing in front of Alabama Crimson Tide fans at Bryant-Denny Stadium and other loud SEC venues.
32) Joshua Karty, Los Angeles Rams
The last-ranked kicker happens to be another intriguing newcomer. Karty nailed 85% of all of his field-goal tries while starring for Stanford. That includes going 23-for-27 during his final campaign in Palo Alto. The Rams opted to tab him with 209th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, six spots behind Reichard.
