With the 2025 NFL Draft less than two months away, more and more stories are set to emerge surrounding the draft’s top prospects. With four players in contention for the number one overall pick, every move those players make before the draft will be scrutinized. For Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, it’s his personality that has reportedly come into question recently.
Sanders has at least one NFL insider on his side, though. After an unnamed NFL quarterbacks coach allegedly revealed that Sanders came across as “brash” and “arrogant” during a team’s combine meeting with the prospect, Josina Anderson leapt to Sanders’ defense.

NFL Insider Josina Anderson Launches Scathing Attack on NFL Coach
According to Anderson, “NFL sources” revealed that a quarterback coach from an NFL team with a top-seven draft pick referred to Sanders’ demeanor as “brash” and “arrogant” during his team interview.
Anderson doesn’t name the team or the coach in question but says the coach was “making his assessment known to a number of people.”
Elaborating further, Anderson writes “According to league sources, said QB coach seems to have issue with ‘the culture’ of athletes who have broad fame and financial success before entering the NFL, and in *their* opinions, appears to them to have a problem [with] certain athletes—I’ll leave it at that.”
Anderson goes on to use “the culture” in quotations once more in the post, so it’s not difficult to see the point she is trying to make. But unfortunately, it’s impossible to know what took place in those team meetings without being there or seeing footage.
Maybe Sanders came across as brash and arrogant, or maybe he’s been unfairly characterized, but there’s no way of knowing.
I am disappointed to hear that a quarterbacks coach from a team drafting in the top 7 referred to Shedeur Sanders as coming off “brash” and “arrogant” in his team interview and making his assessment known to a number of people, per source. There isn’t too much concrete information in Anderson’s post, making it difficult to fully dissect what was said and in what tone it was communicated.
The post is incredibly vague for such a provocative attack, but Anderson seems incredibly sure about what has transpired, so maybe there’s more to it than she is letting on.
Anderson Describes Sanders as “Cordial, Polite, Confident”
Whatever details Anderson has that she isn’t sharing have been enough to trigger the experienced journalist. Offering an alternative characterization of Sanders, Anderson refers to the prospect’s combine press conference.
“I’m just sharing that this coach’s personal assessment is the direct opposite from how Sanders came across to many reporters in his press conference with the media at the Combine.
“Sanders appeared to go out of his way to acknowledge multiple media members, regardless if they were recognizable or not. He seemed cordial, polite, witty, thoughtful along with being confident (as many athletes are).”
Anderson is clearly impressed by Sanders, as is the NFL, given that the college standout is among the favorites to be taken first overall. Whatever happens in April, Sanders will have the chance to prove his doubters wrong on NFL fields from September 2025.
Former NFL player and NFL analyst Bucky Brooks took to X to express his feelings on Anderson’s report:
Thanks for sharing @JosinaAnderson
Every year, we watch a high profile QB deal with this nonsense. Brooks states: “Thanks for sharing @JosinaAnderson
Every year, we watch a high profile QB deal with this nonsense. No one expects Sanders to be a perfect fit for every coach and organization, but the unnecessary character attacks by NFL personnel and some media members with NFL backgrounds is garbage.. These unflattering and unfounded remarks haunt prospects beyond the pre-draft process, including tainting a fan base’s opinion before the player takes the field for a squad.. it’s stupid.”
The Draft process can sometimes be an arduous one for these young players. Any off-the-field issues or comments they may have had, can come back to haunt them by fans or personnel.
Sanders isn’t perfect, but no one is, and while his confidence may rub certain members of an organization the wrong way, there will be another team happy as can be to have drafted him.
