NFL Insider Reveals How Tom Brady Could Have Major Impact on Raiders’ Free Agency, Trade Targets

Las Vegas Raiders could have a big free-agent season with 7x Super Bowl champion Tom Brady as the minority owner and recruiter.

Tom Brady’s influence as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders could be a game-changer for the franchise’s free agency and trade plans.

The team is still searching for a franchise quarterback, and Brady’s presence might help Las Vegas attract a top-tier signal-caller, as NFL Insider Vincent Bonsignore argues.

NFL Insider Suggests Changes in Las Vegas Under Tom Brady

One major name linked to the Raiders is Matthew Stafford. The Super Bowl champion would immediately become the best passer the franchise has had since moving to Vegas.

Bonsignore posted the following on X:

“Something to keep an eye on, per sources: the persuasiveness of Tom Brady as a recruiter for the @Raiders. It will make things interesting during free agency. And maybe even in the trade market. It’s why you can’t rule out Matthew Stafford as an option.”

Brady has embarked on his journey as an NFL broadcaster with Fox Sports. However, his place in the team suggests that he is still keen on remaining close to the sport.

Brady’s recruiting power has already been tested in the past. However, even with his presence, the Raiders failed to land coveted offensive mastermind Ben Johnson as head coach. History suggests that legendary quarterbacks can help sway top talent, just as John Elway did in luring Peyton Manning to the Denver Broncos in 2012. Brady could have a similar impact, giving the Raiders leverage they haven’t had in years.

Crucial Decisions for the Raiders in the 2025 Offseason

The Las Vegas Raiders are heading into a fairly crucial offseason under new head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek. After three consecutive losing seasons, the franchise is determined to turn things around, and that starts with critical roster decisions.

With 17 unrestricted free agents and some of the most salary cap room in the league, the Raiders have flexibility, but also tough choices to make. Two of the Raiders’ most important free agents are safety Tre’von Moehrig and linebacker Robert Spillane.

Moehrig had a breakout year in 2024, racking up career highs in tackles (104) and passes defended (10). His ability to generate pressure as a defensive back (13 QB pressures) makes him a valuable asset. With a projected market value of $15.7 million per year, the Raiders must decide whether to invest heavily in him or look for a cheaper alternative.

Spillane, on the other hand, has become a cornerstone of the defense. The 29-year-old linebacker totaled 158 tackles last season and has built strong chemistry with returning defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. Given his leadership on the field, bringing him back should be a priority.

Stars are waiting to perform on both sides of the ball, and the Raiders have a solid foundation heading into 2025. If Brady can help keep this momentum while putting his position to good use, Las Vegas could be in for an even bigger year ahead.
