Myles Garrett wants out of Cleveland, but Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry has stuck to his guns, repeating that they are not listening to offers for the four-time All-Pro.
Will money and picks talk as the 2025 NFL Draft draws near and Berry faces tough roster decisions? The Philadelphia Eagles are one of those teams looking to make a serious push for the Browns’ superstar.

Browns’ Myles Garrett Could Be Eagles’ Saquon Barkley in 2025
Dianna Russini, senior NFL insider for The Athletic, said Philadelphia’s interest in Garrett isn’t just fake news. “I’m told the Philadelphia Eagles’ interest in Garrett is real,” Russini wrote in a March 1 column.
The Eagles made a splash move in free agency last offseason, acquiring running back Saquon Barkley. The All-Pro changed their offensive identity and re-established the franchise as one of the top contenders in the NFL. Imagine a player like Garrett, the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year, still playing at a high level, wreaking havoc on the Eagles’ already elite top-ranked defense.
“Garrett could be this year’s version of Saquon Barkley for Howie [Roseman],” one NFL GM reportedly told Russini. “He’s an impact add and isn’t a free-agent overpay. Howie’s not afraid to try stuff, and it fits where they are as a team.”
Eagles Star WR A.J. Brown Says Garrett Is His Dream Offseason Acquisition
Imagining is exactly what Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown did on a recent “Word on the Birds” podcast. In a dream world, akin to playing with the salary cap off in EA Sports Madden NFL, teams would have unlimited money to spend on roster-building.
“Honestly, that’s what it be feelin’ like over here,” Brown laughed.
Who would Brown add if he were in Roseman’s shoes and the cap didn’t exist? After a millisecond to ponder, Brown uttered the name of a player that nearly any team would benefit from having on their roster.
“Myles Garrett.”
“Adding him with Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith [Jr.]. I don’t know what’s gonna happen with Josh Sweat or Milton [Williams].”

Sweat, who led the team in sacks with 8.0 last season, tops the Eagles’ 2025 free agents list. The 27-year-old, selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, has amassed 43 sacks, 237 tackles (54 for loss), 97 quarterback hits, seven forced fumbles and a pick-six in 104 games (64 starts).
According to Spotrac, Sweat’s calculated market value is three years, $56.466 million, for an average annual salary of $18.8 million.
How Howie Roseman Could Orchestrate Blockbuster Deal to Land Garrett
On Feb. 28, the NFL announced its salary cap of $279.2 million per club for the 2025 season.
The Eagles will have their work cut out for them this offseason, as they are in the bottom half of the league in cap space and look to reconfigure their roster to make another Super Bowl run.
Unlike last season, the Eagles may be hard-pressed to make a big splash in free agency, as they rank No. 21 in the NFL in effective salary cap space with $19.54 million. However, Roseman has repeatedly proven that he has some tricks up his sleeve, and it would not be surprising if he works his magic to allow the Eagles to make a surprise move for Garrett.
With less than $20 million in cap space, Philadelphia will likely explore cutting or restructuring a few players to free up additional cap space. While these may not be popular moves, the team must get creative to generate more cap space.
Linebacker Zack Baun, a free-agent gem Roseman unearthed last offseason, is now poised to cash in. Baun, Sweat, defensive tackle Milton Williams, and guard Mekhi Becton headline Philly’s free agent class. Returning all or even some could prove challenging, especially if Garrett enters the picture — and you can bet Roseman will have Eagles firmly in the conversation for Garrett.
