NFL Network insider Daniel Jeremiah recently outlined how he could see the Tennessee Titans opting to build out their roster instead of drafting a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. While discussing the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine and the draft on the popular podcast “Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre,” Jeremiah referenced the Seattle Seahawks’ approach to building a team during the decade of the 2010s.
At this time, it appears as though the top two quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft class are Colorado Buffaloes Shedeur Sanders and Miami Hurricanes Cam Ward. Though both have high upside and can be difference-makers at the NFL level, there has been some speculation that some teams may wait for a QB until a future, potentially stronger, draft class.

Daniel Jeremiah’s Tennessee Titans 2025 NFL Draft Projection
Jeremiah detailed how the Seahawks of the 2010s were built on a strong external roster, with stars on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, and a cheap, younger quarterback who was able to learn and be supported by those around him.
“These decisions tend to get made by general managers. General managers that have a runway know that they more than likely get one crack at a quarterback, and do you want this to be your guy, or do you want to try and build up?
“I go back to the old Seattle way of doing business. We’re going to build up the roster, and we’re just going to drop the quarterback in so that we can have success with a young, cheap quarterback,” Jeremiah said.
Jeremiah then continued by explaining how he didn’t think that the current Titans roster was talented enough to elevate a young quarterback like the Seahawks did.
“I don’t think their roster [Tennessee Titans], where it is now, is good enough to uplift the young quarterback that might need some support and some help. And, I don’t know if you look at the upside of this quarterback class, if it’s quite as enticing as what could be coming down the line in the next couple years,” he added.
PFSN’s 2025 NFL Draft Quarterback Projection
Despite Jeremiah’s claims, PFSN’s recent 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft had both Sanders and Ward taken with the first two picks. Ward was selected No. 1 overall by the Titans, while Sanders was drafted No. 2 overall by the Cleveland Browns.
Only time will tell whether the Titans select a QB at No. 1 overall. However, it is evident that Jeremiah believes that the Tennessee franchise could learn something from the draft philosophy of the Seahawks from the previous decade.
