Not Patrick Mahomes, not Andy Reid, but Travis Kelce is the talk of the town as the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to face the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game. The 35-year-old veteran tight end, which many fans and analysts wrote off for being past his prime, has become a different beast during the postseason.
Peter Schrager Raves About Travis Kelce’s Playoff Greatness
Kelce is the most dominant tight end in playoff history. NFL insider Peter Schrager has declared Kelce’s postseason performances unmatched, stating, “Travis Kelce is the most prolific tight end in playoff history. No human has ever had more career catches in the postseason.”
The Chiefs’ star has already broken Jerry Rice’s record for most 100-yard receiving games in the playoffs.
“You look at Travis Kelce in the playoffs. He becomes a different player than he does in September and October. If we take a look at Kelce over the course of NFL history, where he ranks in the postseason, he has the most catches ever, the second-most receiving yards ever.”
"Travis Kelce is the most prolific tight end in playoff history. No human has ever had more career catches in the postseason. Cole Bishop is a 22-year old Bills rookie safety."

The Bills, led by head coach Sean McDermott, are no strangers to Kelce’s postseason form. In three playoff matchups against Buffalo, Kelce has torched their defense with 26 receptions for 289 yards and five touchdowns. Despite his age, Kelce remains a nightmare for defenders.
Rookie safety Cole Bishop is expected to take on the daunting task of containing Kelce, but even Bills defensive coordinator, Bobby Babich, acknowledges the challenge.
“The thing that’s unique about him is no matter what the regular season looks like, he shows up in the playoffs. You talk about the greatest competitors in any sport, that’s what they tend to do is they show up in the biggest moments, and he does that. So we got to try to put a plan together as best we can to to make sure that we at least keep him contained,” he said.
Kelce isn’t just about the stats — he thrives in high-pressure moments. Speaking on the “New Heights” podcast, the Chiefs TE shared his excitement for the upcoming clash. “It’s going to be a dog fight. These guys match up very, very good with us,” Kelce said.
While he was a bit rusty in the first few months, the Chiefs legend has regained his confidence, especially from a postseason showing last week against the Texans, where he recorded seven catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.
The Bills, however, are bringing reinforcements this time around. Key players like Keon Coleman, Matt Milano, and Dalton Kincaid, who missed their regular-season matchup against Kansas City, are back in action.
On the Chiefs’ side, the return of cornerback Jaylen Watson and running back Isiah Pacheco will bolster Reid’s roster. Whether the Bills can neutralize Kelce remains to be seen, but his impact on the game is undeniable, as Schrager suggested.
