NFL Insider Clears the Air Around Speculation of Deion Sanders Using Cowboys as Leverage

Deion Sanders and the Dallas Cowboys saga started much before Mike McCarthy was fired. It has only intensified after the former head coach’s exit.

However, there have been claims that Sanders is using the Cowboys’ situation as a negotiation tactic to get a better contract in Colorado. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tackled that issue head-on.

Allegations of Deion Sanders Taking the Cowboys for a Ride Get Countered by Adam Schefter

Sanders has insisted on several occasions that he wants to continue coaching at Colorado.

However, other times he has also stated that the only way he will come to the NFL is to coach both of his sons, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders.

This mixed messaging has led to claims that Coach Prime is fleecing the Cowboys as a negotiation tactic. During Schefter’s appearance on ESPN’s “First Take,” the NFL insider revealed Sanders’ reaction to these claims.

“A lot of people out there are saying Deion Sanders is using this as a leverage ploy,” he said. “I brought that up to Deion Sanders and he said, ‘That ain’t true and I don’t need any negotiation ploy. I’m me.’ That’s how he feels. He doesn’t need any negotiating ploy.”

The Cowboys, on the other hand, have requested former New York Jets HC Robert Saleh for an interview, according to several reports. Fans shared their dissatisfaction with this path from the front office and are adamant about acquiring Sanders.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh appeared on FS1’s “The Faculty” recently. The 47-year-old brought receipts as to why Sanders should avoid being charmed by Jerry Jones. “I heard Jordan Schultz saying it’s a prestigious and coveted job,” he said. “Man, the Cowboys is a dead-end job.”
