Ian Rapoport provided a huge injury update for both Jalen Hurts and Quinyon Mitchell as they get set to face off with the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship. Will the Philadelphia Eagles be flying into the game at full health?
Ian Rapoport Expects Both Jalen Hurts, Quinyon Mitchell To Play in NFC Championship Game
Though the Eagles took down the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs, two of their star players suffered injuries in the game.
One of these players was Hurts, who played the whole game but was clearly uncomfortable leaving the field after they won.

The other significant injury was to their sensational rookie cornerback Mitchell, who left the game in the second quarter after hurting his shoulder. This proved to be a big loss as Eagles backup CB Isiah Rodgers let up multiple big plays that led to scores from the Rams.

Thankfully, however, Rapoport said that he expects both Mitchell and Hurts to play in the NFC Championship, which is fantastic news for Philadelphia.

The lack of Mitchell’s presence against the Rams showed just how important he is to the team, but they still managed to pull off a victory.
Hurts, meanwhile, suffered a concussion just a few weeks ago against the Commanders, leading to a miraculous comeback victory by Jayden Daniels.
In Week 16, Hurts led the Eagles to a quick 14-point lead in the first quarter, before going down with a concussion. Kenny Pickett gave Philly a valiant effort and was even one DeVonta Smith drop away from winning the game.
Perhaps the most valuable aspect of Hurts’ game is his ability to extend a play or a drive, which could be limited by injury. A perfect example of this is the Eagles’ 10-minute, game-ending drive against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fortunately for the Eagles, Hurts is expected to play in the NFC title game. Even so, they can’t be comfortable in this situation, as Daniels is on a heater in the playoffs.
The Commanders set the tone going forward with their dominant victory over the Detroit Lions, which should absolutely scare Philadelphia’s defense. This could be one of the best games of the playoffs as one of the most electric offenses gets set to take on what may be the best defense in the NFL.
