NFL Injuries Week 10: Tracking Every Injury, Including the Latest on Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Stefon Diggs, James Conner, Josh Downs, and Others

Who's in and who's out for Week 10 of the 2023 NFL season? Here's the injury report for this week, with updates on Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, and others.

Injuries are an unfortunate reality of NFL life, but everyone who follows the league — fantasy football players, sports bettors, and fans of teams — wants the latest health information. In that vein, we’re tracking every NFL injury ahead of Week 10.

Let’s review the injury report for every game on the NFL’s Week 10 schedule. Remember, you can always stay updated on the latest injury buzz around the league with PFN’s NFL and Fantasy News Tracker.

    NFL Week 10 Injury Tracker

Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots (Germany)

    • Colts: WR Josh Downs, QUESTIONABLE (knee); WR Alec Pierce, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); TE Drew Ogletree, OUT (foot); LB Zaire Franklin, QUESTIONABLE (knee); CB JuJu Brents, OUT (quad)
    • Patriots: WR Demario Douglas, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); WR DeVante Parker, OUT (concussion); OT Trent Brown, OUT (personal/ankle); OT Vederian Lowe, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); DT Christian Barmore, QUESTIONABLE (knee); DL Deatrich Wise, QUESTIONABLE (shoulder); LB Ja’Whaun Bentley, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); CB Jonathan Jones, QUESTIONABLE (knee); CB Jack Jones, QUESTIONABLE (knee); CB Myles Bryant, QUESTIONABLE (chest); CB J.C. Jackson, OUT (personal)

Colts: Downs aggravated his existing knee injury in Week 9. He never returned to Indy’s win over the Panthers and didn’t practice this week, but he is still somehow listed as questionable.

Pierce was added to Indy’s injury report on Thursday, suggesting he injured his ankle during practice. He was a full practice participant on Friday. Isaiah McKenzie and Juwan Winfree will see more targets if Downs and Pierce are sidelined on Sunday.

Ogletree and Brents didn’t practice all week or make the trip to Germany. On a positive note, right tackle Braden Smith (ankle) has fully participated after missing the last month of action.

Patriots: New England has already ruled out Parker, Brown, and Jackson, none of whom traveled to Europe. Parker will miss his second straight game with a concussion.

Brown also sat out Week 9 while dealing with an ankle injury. But the Patriots are listing him with a “personal/ankle” designation this week, so there may be more to the story. Connor McDermott handled left tackle for New England on Sunday, allowing two pressures on 47 pass-blocking snaps.

Jackson, whom the Patriots recently re-acquired from the Los Angeles Chargers, isn’t with the team as he undergoes a “mental reset.” He’d played at least 50 snaps in each of the Pats’ last four games.

    Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals

    • Texans: RB Dameon Pierce, OUT (ankle); FB Andrew Beck, OUT (ankle/elbow/shoulder); WR Nico Collins, OUT (calf); WR Robert Woods, QUESTIONABLE (foot); TE Brevin Jordan, OUT (foot); EDGGE Jerry Hughes, QUESTIONABLE (back); LB Henry To’oTo’o, OUT (concussion); LB Jake Hansen, OUT (hamstring/hand); CB Steven Nelson, QUESTIONABLE (back/neck); S Jimmie Ward, OUT (hamstring); K Ka’imi Fairbairn, OUT (quad)
    • Bengals: WR Ja’Marr Chase, QUESTIONABLE (back); WR Tee Higgins, OUT (hamstring); WR Charlie Jones, OUT (thumb); EDGE Sam Hubbard, OUT (ankle); DT Josh Tupou, DOUBTFUL (shoulder)

TexansHouston wins this week’s Longest Injury Report Award.

Pierce hasn’t practiced this week and will miss his second consecutive game with an ankle injury. Devin Singletary played 75% of the Texans’ offensive snaps with Pierce sidelined in Week 9.

Like Pierce, Collins will be absent for a second straight contest. On the plus side, Woods — who couldn’t play in Week 9 — was upgraded from DNP to limited practices to end the week and is trending toward playing against the Bengals.

Houston’s secondary is also banged up. Nelson and Ward won’t play, forcing Ka’dar Hollman and DeAndre Houston-Carson into the lineup at corner and safety, respectively.

CB Derek Stingley Jr. — Houston’s 2022 first-round corner sidelined by a hamstring injury since Week 2 — was designated to return from injured reserve (IR) on Wednesday. He fully practiced this week and has no injury designation for Sunday’s game after being activated on Saturday.

Fairbairn won’t kick after suffering a quad injury and missing the second half of last week’s Texans win, but Houston won’t turn to RB Dare Ogunbowale again. With Fairbain out, the Texans elevated kicker Matt Ammendola from their practice squad. Fairbairn went to IR on  Saturday, which will require a four-game absence.

BengalsChase fell on his back while trying to haul in a Joe Burrow pass against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. He said the injury “got worse as the game went on,” adding he was “pretty sore.” Perhaps unsurprisingly, Chase didn’t practice on Wednesday but returned on Thursday for a limited session.

Chase said he felt “way better” on Thursday and sounded intent on playing this week. “I just have to be there for my teammates right now, and if I can go, I’m gonna go,” he said. “In my head, I’m playing. So until further notice, we’ll see.”

Higgins injured his hamstring during Wednesday’s practice and was listed as limited. However, he failed to practice for the rest of the week, and Bengals head coach Zac Taylor officially ruled Higgins out on Friday. Trenton Irwin and Andre Iosivas will split snaps in his absence.

Hubbard never practiced this week and was declared out on Friday. Cam Sample and first-round rookie Myles Murphy will see more time on the edge if Hubbard misses Sunday’s game.

New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings

    • Saints: RB Kendre Miller, OUT (ankle); EDGE Isaiah Foskey, OUT (quad)
    • Vikings: QB Jaren Hall, OUT (concussion); WR Justin Jefferson, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); WR K.J. Osborn, QUESTIONABLE (concussion); TE T.J. Hockenson, QUESTIONABLE (ribs); C Chris Reed, QUESTIONABLE (foot); LB Brian Asamoah II, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); DT Dean Lowry, DOUBTFUL (groin);

SaintsNeither Miller nor Foskey practiced this week. Miller sprained his ankle in Week 9 and never returned. His role had dwindled since New Orleans RB2 Jamaal Williams returned from IR in Week 7.

Vikings: While Jefferson is still on IR, he returned for limited practices this week. Head coach Kevin O’Connell said Wednesday that it was “a little aggressive” to expect Jefferson to play in Week 10. The Vikings listed him as questionable but did not activate him for Sunday’s game.

Osborn didn’t practice Wednesday after suffering a concussion in Week 9, but he was a full participant to close the week. It might be tough for him to clear the league’s concussion protocol by Sunday, but Osborn is questionable. Minnesota plans to decide on his final game status tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Hockenson was limited during this week’s practices. He’s been banged up all season but hasn’t missed any time. Although Hockenson is questionable, the veteran TE said he plans to play on Sunday.

Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers

Packers: RB Aaron Jones was limited in practice this week, but Green Bay was just managing the veteran’s workload. He has no injury designation for Sunday. Wide receiver Christian Watson, who departed last week’s game with multiple injuries, practiced fully.

On the defensive side of the ball, Walker and Alexander never practiced this week and are unlikely to play in Week 10. Walker missed Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Rams; Alexander played every snap in the game but has missed three games with a back injury this year.

Steelers: Adams went down after playing two snaps in Pittsburgh’s Week 9 win over the Tennessee Titans, while Fitzpatrick wasn’t healthy enough to play in that game. Neither defender will suit up against the Packers.

Tennessee Titans at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    • Titans: QB Ryan Tannehill, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); WR Treylon Burks, OUT (concussion); OT Chris Hubbard, QUESTIONABLE (concussion); OT Nicholas Petit-Frere, OUT (shoulder); G Daniel Brunskill, OUT (ankle); CB Sean Murphy-Bunting, OUT (thumb); CB Anthony Kendall, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); S Mike Brown, OUT (ankle)
    • Buccaneers: WR Trey Palmer, QUESTIONABLE (neck); G Matt Feiler, DOUBTFUL (knee); DT Calijah Kancey, QUESTIONABLE (quad); DT Logan Hall, QUESTIONABLE (groin); CB Carlton Davis, QUESTIONABLE (toe); CB Jamel Dean, QUESTIONABLE (concussion); CB Josh Hayes, OUT (concussion)

Titans: Tannehill returned for a limited practice on Wednesday, his first session since suffering an ankle sprain in Week 6. He sat out Thursday before a limited Friday session. Head coach Mike Vrabel announced this week that rookie Will Levis will remain Tennessee’s starting QB moving forward, even if Tannehill is healthy enough to play.

Burks, sidelined by a knee injury from Weeks 4-6, is now dealing with a concussion. NFL players have rarely cleared the league’s concussion protocol without missing at least one week, and Burks won’t be any different. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine would see more snaps in Burks’ absence.

The Titans’ offensive line isn’t great, even at full strength, so injury issues could erode Levis’ protection. Nicholas Petit-Frere went to IR on Saturday, Brunskill will be sidelined on Sunday, and Hubbard may still be in the protocol despite fully practicing during the week.

Buccaneers: The secondary is Tampa Bay’s primary concern heading into Week 10 — and not just because it allowed C.J. Stroud to throw for 470 yards on Sunday.

Dean and Davis — the Bucs’ starting cornerbacks — were Wednesday DNPs. But Dean practiced fully on Friday, while Davis was limited. Both now appear to have a chance to play Sunday, but Davis might be a game-time decision.

San Francisco 49ers at Jacksonville Jaguars

    • 49ers: OT Trent Williams, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); G Aaron Banks, OUT (toe); DT Javon Hargrave, QUESTIONABLE (knee); LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, QUESTIONABLE (ankle)
    • Jaguars: WR Zay Jones, OUT (knee); G Ezra Cleveland, QUESTIONABLE (toe); CB Tyson Campbell, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); S Andre Cisco, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); S Daniel Thomas, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring)

49ers: Deebo Samuel missed most of San Francisco’s last three games with a hairline fracture in his shoulder, but he fully practiced this week and will play in Week 10.

While Williams was a DNP on Wednesday, he returned for a limited practice on Thursday, suggesting he could suit up on Sunday. Banks never practiced this week, so Jon Feliciano may play left guard this week.

The 49ers sent edge rusher Drake Jackson to IR on Saturday. Trade deadline acquisition Chase Young will take Jackson’s pass-rushing snaps. Meanwhile, Hargrave was “moving normally” on Friday after he aggravated a knee issue during Thursday’s practice.

Jaguars: Jones has missed five of Jacksonville’s last six games with an ongoing knee injury, but he managed limited practices throughout this week. Still, head coach Doug Pederson called Jones a “long shot” to play in Week 10, and he was officially ruled out on Friday.

    Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens

    • Browns: RB Pierre Strong, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); WR David Bell, OUT (knee); WR Marquise Goodwin, OUT (concussion); OT Dawand Jones, OUT (knee/shoulder); CB Greg Newsome, QUESTIONABLE (groin)
    • Ravens: RB Keaton Mitchell, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); OT Morgan Moses, QUESTIONABLE (shoulder); CB Marlon Humphrey, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); CB Jalyn Armour-Davis, QUESTIONABLE (illness)

BrownsCleveland placed starting left tackle Jedrick Wills on IR this week, and now Jones — the club’s starting right tackle — is dealing with knee and shoulder injuries. Jones won’t play this week, so the Browns will start Geron Christian at LT and James Hudson III at RT.

Newsome sat out Week 9 with a groin injury, was a DNP on Wednesday, and was limited on Thursday and Friday. His replacement in the slot, Cameron Mitchell, went to IR after suffering a hamstring injury on Sunday. Mike Ford is the next nickel up for Cleveland if Newsome doesn’t play.

Ravens: Mitchell, who rushed for 138 yards and a TD in Week 9, strained his hamstring during Thursday’s practice. He was a full Friday participant and is expected to play despite his questionable tag. Ravens OC Todd Monken said this week that Mitchell, a rookie UDFA, has earned more work in the club’s backfield.

    Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals

    • Falcons: WR Mack Hollins, OUT (ankle); DT David Onyemata, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); CB Dee Alford, OUT (ankle)
    • Cardinals: RB James Conner, QUESTIONABLE (knee); RB Emari Demercado, OUT (toe); WR Michael Wilson, QUESTIONABLE (shoulder); TE Geoff Swaim (back); OT D.J. Humphries, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); G Will Hernandez, QUESTIONABLE (knee); OL Trystan Colon, OUT (calf); LB Ezekiel Turner, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); OL Carter O’Donnell, QUESTIONABLE (ankle)

Falcons: Although Drake London missed Week 9 with a groin injury, he was upgraded from limited to a full practice on Thursday. He’s fully expected to play on Sunday. The same cannot be said for Hollins, who did not practice all week.

On defense, Onyemata was upgraded to limited to end the week and might be a game-time decision. Alford has already been ruled out, meaning Mike Hughes will handle slot CB duties in Week 10.

Cardinals: Arizona will see Kyler Murray’s 2023 debut on Sunday, as the veteran quarterback has been activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and will start against the Falcons.

Conner will also return from his own injury absence. The Cardinals activated him from IR on Saturday following a week of limited practice sessions.

    MORE: NFL Defense Rankings 2023

Demercado worked as Conner’s main RB replacement until suffering a toe injury that kept him out of Week 9. He didn’t practice this week and won’t play against the Falcons. With Demercado out, Keaontay Ingram will be Arizona’s RB2.

Wilson returned for a limited practice after missing the Cardinals’ loss to the Browns. He’s expected to play on Sunday; the rookie wideout will likely slide right back into a starting role.

Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Chargers

    • Lions: WR Donovan Peoples-Jones, QUESTIONABLE (ribs); OL Halapoulivaati Vaitai, OUT (back); OL Dan Skipper, QUESTIONABLE (ribs); DT Levi Onwuzurike, DOUBTFUL (hip)
    • Chargers: No injuries of note

Lions: Detroit is finally starting to get healthy. While Vaitai won’t play on Sunday, RB David Montgomery, G Jonah Jackson, and C Frank Ragnow — all of whom have missed time in recent weeks — are off the injury report and ready for Week 10.

The Lions acquired Peoples-Jones from the Browns on trade deadline day, but it’s unclear if he’ll be able to make his Detroit debut this week. DPJ will likely see a limited role even if he plays.

Chargers: Los Angeles will be fully healthy for Sunday’s game.

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

    • Giants: RB Deon Jackson, OUT (concussion); RB Jashaun Corbin, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); WR Parris Campbell, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring); OT Evan Neal, OUT (ankle); G Mark Glowinski, OUT (personal); EDGE Azeez Ojulari, QUESTIONABLE(ankle); CB Adoree’ Jackson (concussion/neck)
    • Cowboys: WR KaVontae Turpin, QUESTIONABLE (shoulder)

GiantsNew York officially placed Daniel Jones (ACL) on IR this week, but that’s not the club’s only injury issue.

Neal didn’t practice this week while dealing with his ongoing ankle issue, while Jackson also missed every session. Neither will play on Sunday, so Tyre Phillips will play right tackle while Nick McCloud replaces Jackson at CB.

Cowboys: Turpin played through a shoulder injury in Week 9 but did not practice this week. If he can’t suit up against the Giants, rookie RB Deuce Vaughn will become Dallas’ primary returner.

    Washington Commanders at Seattle Seahawks

    • Commanders: WR Curtis Samuel, QUESTIONABLE (toe)
    • Seahawks: RB DeeJay Dallas, QUESTIONABLE (shoulder); RB Kenny McIntosh, QUESTIONABLE (knee); TE Colby Parkinson; QUESTIONABLE (biceps); G Anthony Bradford, OUT (knee/personal); LB Jordyn Brooks, QUESTIONABLE (hamstring)

CommandersSamuel didn’t practice last week and missed Sunday’s game but was limited throughout this week’s practices. Jamison Crowder played 24 offensive snaps against the Patriots in Samuel’s absence, but Samuel is expected to suit up this week.

Seahawks: Seattle is getting healthy for the second half of the season. While Kenneth Walker III, DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and others received their regular rest days this week, they’re set to play in Week 10. Brooks is the only starter whose Sunday status is in question.

New York Jets at Las Vegas Raiders (SNF)

    • Jets: OT Duane Brown, OUT (hip); OT Billy Turner, OUT (finger); EDGE Will McDonald, QUESTIONABLE (ankle); LB Chazz Surratt, OUT (ankle)
    • Raiders: FB Jakob Johnson, OUT (concussion); OT Kolton Miller, DOUBTFUL (shoulder); G Greg Van Roten, QUESTIONABLE (biceps/back); CB Marcus Peters, QUESTIONABLE (knee)

Jets: New York will not activate Brown from IR before Sunday’s game. Turner, who started at right tackle last week, had surgery on his finger this week. McDonald injured his ankle during Friday’s practice.

Raiders: Las Vegas could be without two starting offensive linemen on Sunday. Miller (left tackle) showed up on the club’s injury report for the first time this week and is not expected to play against the Jets. If Van Roten can’t suit up, Jordan Meredith will handle right guard.

Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills (MNF)

    • Broncos: No injuries of note
    • Bills: LB Terrell Bernard, QUESTIONABLE (concussion); CB Christian Benford, OUT (hamstring); S Micah Hyde, OUT (neck/stinger)

Broncos: G Ben Powers (ankle) and EDGE Baron Browning (wrist) are dealing with injuries, but they fully practiced all week.

Bills: Midweek additions to injury reports are never a good sign, and Stefon Diggs was limited on Friday and Saturday. But he doesn’t have an injury designation for Week 10 and said he “100%” expects to play.

Meanwhile, Benford and Hyde never practiced this week, while Bernard is still working through the concussion protocol. The Bills are the last team that can afford any more injuries to defensive starters.
