Injury Report News and Updates From the Weekend

The Giants have had a bunch of injury issues this season. One area of concern all year has been their kicker. The team not only lost Graham Gano but also Greg Joseph and has been down to its third player at the position. The good news is Gano has gotten in a couple of limited practices this week and is trending well to return.

Other than Gano, TE Theo Johnson has been limited with knee and back issues but is not on the final injury report. Slayton is in the concussion protocol and did not travel with the team, so he is out. Head coach Brian Daboll said Jalin Hyatt will assume Slayton’s role.

The remaining injured players for the Giants are all questionable. LB Matt Adams is dealing with a calf issue. LB Darius Mausau has a hamstring strain. S Jason Pinnock is attempting to play through an abdominal injury.

It’s been great news across the board for the Panthers from a health standpoint. The team is still without Thielen, who is not quite ready to return from a hamstring strain that sent him to IR. However, other than Thielen, OT Ikwonu is the only player to miss practice this week. He is out with his ankle injury.

Panthers rookie RB Jonathon Brooks was also activated from the NFI list earlier this week. He is eligible to make his debut on Sunday morning, but with the Panthers on bye next week, it’s possible the team will hold him out one more game to give him another two full weeks to recover.
