The Chargers officially knocked Denver out of playoff contention after beating the Broncos 34-13. Denver may be eliminated, but Kansas City still has something to play for (AKA the No. 1 seed) in Week 18.

The Tennessee Titans currently sit as the AFC’s No. 1 seed due to their head-to-head win over the Chiefs this season. The Titans play the Texans this week, which should go about how you expect — but you never know, it’s the NFL. The Chiefs need a win, and with a Tennessee tumble, Kansas City moseys into a first-round bye and home-field advantage.

Kansas City’s defense should have no issues containing Drew Lock and Denver’s offense. However, while the Broncos’ secondary can be stingy, it sounds as though Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes is focused on making this NFL game today a tune-up for a playoff run. Kansas City goes to 12-5, hoping for some Sunday help.

Dallas Cowboys (11-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (7-9)

    • Channel: ESPN, ABC, ESPN+
    • Start time: 8:15 PM ET
    • Live stream:
      • ESPN App
      • Sling
      • Hulu + Live TV

Week 17’s 25-22 loss to the Arizona Cardinals killed any chances of Dallas clinching the NFC’s No. 1 seed. Now, they have to fight off an Eagles offense who has figured some things out down the stretch. For a while, it seemed if any NFC East team was going to join the Cowboys in the playoffs, it was going to be the Washington Football Team.

However, Philly has come storming back with six wins in their last seven games to clinch a Wild Card berth. A win tonight and a loss tomorrow from San Francisco would move them to the sixth seed.

A loss can’t really hurt the Cowboys as they can only be as low as fourth, but a win and some help could propel Dallas back into the NFC’s second or third seed. Philadelphia has had one of the better rushing defenses this season. With Dallas already struggling to run the ball and calling runs at the second-lowest rate in the league, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has a mighty tall task ahead of him in this Week 18 NFL game today. That is, if he even starts — rest is a possibility. This game will paint a clearer picture of expectations for both franchises heading into the postseason.
