NFL Games Today: Is There Thursday Night Football Tonight on January 11, 2024?

Are there any NFL games today? Is there a Thursday Night Football game, and if not, when will Super Wild Card Weekend kick off?

Are there any NFL games today? The 2023-24 regular season came to a close last Sunday, and while coaching departures and firings in both the NFL and college football have dominated the news cycle, postseason football also kicks off this week.

Here’s all the information needed to watch Super Wild Card Weekend, including the start times, TV channels, and live stream options.

NFL Games Today: Will There Be Thursday Night Football Tonight?

Week 17’s Thursday night matchup between the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns was the season’s final Thursday Night Football game. The Browns won 37-20 on the back of Joe Flacco as Cleveland clinched a playoff berth for the second time in four years after ending an 18-year postseason drought in 2020.

While Super Wild Card Weekend starts this Saturday, NFL fans must wait until next season to see another Thursday Night Football contest. Even though the league will play a Monday Night Football game this week, the league wants to avoid any teams having a short week in the postseason due to a Thursday night kickoff.

Monday night’s game creates a one-game disadvantage for the winner compared to postseason teams playing on Saturday and Sunday, but the NFL schedules the winner of the game to play the following Sunday.

While an expanded schedule would be fun for the fans, Thursday Night Football in the postseason isn’t a good idea considering the players’ health.
