While the No. 1 seeds played on Saturday, two more NFL games kick off today. After overtaking the Philadelphia Eagles in dominating fashion, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head to Ford Field to play the Detroit Lions. Then the Kansas City Chiefs head on the road for QB Patrick Mahomes’ first true road playoff game to take on the Buffalo Bills. Who will advance to next weekend?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions
- Start time: 3 p.m. ET
- Channel: NBC
- Live stream options: Peacock
In one of the closer games of Super Wild Card Weekend, the Lions defeated the Los Angeles Rams 24-23 to earn their first postseason victory since 1991. Detroit is primed and ready for another postseason win to reach their first conference championship in the same span. Will they keep those dreams alive when the Buccaneers come to town today?
While Tampa Bay has found more success as of late compared to the Lions, winning the NFC South three years in a row, the last two titles have not come as easy. QB Baker Mayfield propelled the Buccaneers to a postseason berth after the team had been written off after Tom Brady’s retirement in the offseason. It would take a miracle, but there’s always a chance for a Tampa upset.
Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills
- Start time: 6:30 p.m. ET
- Channel: CBS
- Live stream options: Paramount+, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV
Arguably the closest game of the Divisional Round, the Bills get to do something for the first time in NFL history: host Patrick Mahomes for a playoff game. Until this matchup, the prolific Chiefs QB has played every single non-Super Bowl playoff matchup in Arrowhead Stadium. However, after clinching the AFC’s No. 3 seed, the streak was bound to end.
