NFL Games Today: Is There Thursday Night Football Tonight? Pro Bowl Skills Showdown Takes Center Stage

Are there any NFL games today? Although not technically a Thursday Night Football game, we do have the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown!

Conference Championship Weekend has come and gone, and now, we know the two teams that will be facing off in Super Bowl 57. However, are there any NFL games today, or do we need to wait until Feb. 12 for our next look at NFL action? Well, the answer might just surprise you.

NFL Games Today: Is There Thursday Night Football Tonight?

Okay, this one is a bit more complicated than usual. No, there technically aren’t any NFL games today. However, even if it isn’t your typical Thursday Night Football game, there is still an opportunity to see some of the NFL’s biggest stars. Tonight, we get the first-ever newly formatted Pro Bowl Skills Showdown!

When the NFL decided to do away with the typical Pro Bowl format, they instead installed a new version that divided the event over two days. Tonight, we get the first edition, which will involve a mix of prerecorded events, live games, and some classic skills competitions. Here’s what you can look forward to.

Events at the NFL’s Pro Bowl Skills Showdown

    • Epic Pro Bowl Dodgeball
    • Lightning Round
    • Longest Drive
    • Precision Passing
    • Best Catch (first round)

From what we know so far, the above will be the first five events that we will see during Thursday’s Pro Bowl Skills Showdown. Dodgeball is something we already witnessed last year, but both the Lightning Round and Longest Drive are new. The Lightning Round is a complex, elimination-style game with a number of mini-games. The Longest Drive is exactly what it sounds like, a prerecorded longest golf drive competition.
