NFL Games Today: Is There Monday Night Football Tonight?

Is there any Monday Night Football tonight? Do we get any NFL games today, or do we need to wait until the weekend for the playoffs?

The Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs has come and gone, and now only four teams remain in the quest for the Lombardi Trophy. Is there a Monday Night Football game tonight, or do we need to wait for the weekend for more NFL action?

NFL Games Today: A Return for Monday Night Football?

There are no NFL games today. Monday Night Football will not be back until next season, with the last iteration being during Wild Card Weekend. Although there are no NFL games today, there are some amazing matchups on tap for this weekend.

The Conference Championships will take place on Sunday, Jan. 29, when the San Francisco 49ers travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. The 49ers squeaked by the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round thanks to another impressive performance by rookie Brock Purdy.

Much has been said about the unbelievable run that last year’s Mr. Irrelevant has been on, but the true hero of that game was tight end George Kittle. With Dallas’ defense all but eliminating the run game and Christian McCaffrey, it was Kittle who stepped up to make some highlight-reel catches to seal the victory. Now, the 49ers will take on another tough defense in the Eagles.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, is coming off an impressive 38-7 beatdown of the New York Giants. They have all the momentum heading into the NFC Conference Championship and are somehow playing their best football when it matters most. Jalen Hurts looked to be just about 100%, and that should terrify opposing defenses.

For the AFC Championship Game, we get a repeat of last year’s matchup as the Cincinnati Bengals travel to Arrowhead to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. The biggest storyline around this game will be the health of QB Patrick Mahomes.

During the Chiefs’ 27-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mahomes suffered what is being reported as a high ankle sprain. He finished the game but was clearly hobbled. Will that impact his mobility in this one? Can the Chiefs compete against this Bengals’ surging offense with a less than 100% Mahomes?
