Week 1 of the 2024 NFL preseason went off without a hitch. The other 30 NFL franchises made their preseason debuts following the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans Hall of Fame Game matchups. While Week 1 spanned Thursday through Sunday, providing four uninterrupted days of football, Week 2 doesn’t have the same schedule.
Are there any NFL games today? Let’s take a look at the rest of the NFL preseason Week 2 schedule.
Are There Any NFL Games Today?
While the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots started Week 2 action in Gillette Stadium Thursday night, the league takes Friday off before a jam-packed Saturday slate featuring 13 different matchups. The weekend ends with a Sunday night doubleheader kicking off at 8 p.m. ET.
Last night, the Eagles defeated the Patriots 14-13 in a low-scoring, defensive battle. While there weren’t any stars on the Eagles side of the ball playing, rookie QB Drake Maye did get significantly more playing time compared to Week 1 of the preseason.
PFN’s Dakota Randall, who attended the preseason game live, had the following to say about Maye’s performance.
“The discourse surrounding Maye has been negative, to say the least. The UNC product hasn’t come close to challenging Jacoby Brissett for the starting job and rarely has flashed the talent that makes him such a tantalizing prospect.
Maye’s struggles shouldn’t cause alarm, as not all highly-drafted quarterbacks are created equal. He’s on the raw side, and that’s fine. But that’s not what an increasingly apathetic fanbase wants to hear, and you can’t blame them.
So, Thursday night’s performance was a breath of fresh air, even though it was far from perfect. Maye finally pushed the ball downfield with success.”
I am SO disappointed Javon Baker didn't come down with this. What a gorgeous throw by Drake Maye pic.twitter.com/LTQw0sGRfO

While the league crams the second week of the preseason into just three days, the final week of the preseason goes back to the four-day schedule. With plenty of games yet to kick off let’s take a look at the rest of the Week 2 schedule for the 2024 NFL preseason.
Remaining Preseason Week 2 Schedule
Saturday and Sunday feature a couple of intriguing matchups as teams prepare for the regular season. The Minnesota Vikings take on the Cleveland Browns as they start to determine what the backup plan behind Sam Darnold is following rookie QB JJ McCarthy’s meniscus repair.
Meanwhile, a number of rookie QBs look to get another shot at impressing their teams. After an impressive outing, will rookie QB Jayden Daniels get another shot to give another glimpse of what the Washington Commanders offense may look like this upcoming season? Will Saints rookie Spencer Rattler and Broncos rookie Bo Nix come out with another head-turning outing?
With players looking to make the most of their snaps, anything can happen in the preseason. Here’s how to watch the rest of the matchups this weekend with no NFL games today.
