The NFL world was taken aback when Larry Fitzgerald Sr., the father of former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald Jr., took the liberty to announce legendary WR Randy Moss’ diagnosis on his social media account.
Fitzgerald Sr. revealed that Moss is suffering from liver cancer, days after Moss shared that he and his family are “battling something internally,” followed by an announcement by ESPN that he’d be stepping away from the “Sunday NFL Countdown” show.
After Fitzgerald Sr. tweeted what he’d heard, Moss’ son Thaddeus called him out. Moss’ son called the incident “disgusting” while expressing his frustration on the matter.
NFL Fans Harshly React As Randy Moss’ Son Calls Out Larry Fitzgerald Sr. Over False Revelation
In a now-deleted post, Larry Fitzgerald Sr. wrote “66th NFL Hall of Fame Ceremony here in Las Vegas just heard that Vikings HOF Randy Moss has liver cancer. Let’s show the power of prayer and pull Moss through this..I love you Randy.”
Moss’ son bluntly called out Fitzgerald Sr. and replied, “This is disgusting. You have no right to try to make private matters public for the sake of engagement,” Thaddeus replied on X. “I do not believe my father talks to you, so check your f***ing sources.”

Along with Moss’ son, NFL fans were left unimpressed by the incident.
“It’s disgusting even if he did fact check. Randy announced he was sick to us but never specified what. That’s HIS business and HIS news to share, if he wants. He kept it private for a reason. No one else should be airing out any of his information. Gross behavior,” one fan said.
“Thad I’m sorry to tell but the world can tell that’s what the issue is all we gotta do is look at his purple lips and yellow eyes to tell it’s a liver/liquor issue,” another fan pointed out.
Another fan expressed frustration, “Good for Thaddeus Moss. Why would Fitzgerald Sr. pull a stunt like that?”
“Yeah that’s not right,” another fan shared their thoughts.
Another fan pointed out, “He never said it was false, just that he was disgusting for posting it.”
“W for calling him out publicly,” another fan added.
Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre also extended his wishes for Moss following Fitzgerald Sr.’s tweet, but his son Thaddeus quickly clarified that while he appreciates the support, his father will address the world when he’s ready.
