‘I’m Sorry Cowboys Fans’ – NFL Fans Slam Former Browns QB’s Addition to Brian Schottenheimer Staff

NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo announced that former Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey would have a role with the Dallas Cowboys next season. In another social media release, fellow NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that Dorsey would be joining head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s staff as the pass-game specialist.

Dorsey was promoted as Buffalo’s offensive coordinator prior to the 2022 campaign after the departure of Brian Daboll to the New York Giants. However, he was fired the next season after the Bills struggled offensively with largely one-dimensional play-calling and schemes. This past year, he joined the Browns as their OC. However, the team struggled mightily on offense, once again leading to his firing at this season’s end.

Social Media Reaction to Ken Dorsey Dallas Cowboys Hiring

Garafolo broke the news on X.

“The #Cowboys are working to hire former #Bills and #Browns offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, sources tell me and @RapSheet. Not done yet and the role is being finalized but Dorsey is expected to join Brian Schottenheimer’s coaching staff soon,” he stated.

Rapoport then outlined what role Dorsey would have on the Cowboys’ staff next year.

“Ken Dorsey is set to be the #Cowboys pass-game specialist, source says,” he explained.

In response, one Bills fan detailed how he felt bad for Cowboys supporters.

“I’m sorry cowboys fans,” they said.

Another person questioned why the Cowboys would be interested in Dorsey at all.

“Wow, fired twice in 2 seasons and the Cowboys are jumping up and down,” they stated.

Meanwhile, one user came to Dorsey’s defense and highlighted how the move would be a good one if it was in the right role on the staff.

“W if for QB coach,” they outlined.

    Cowboys’ 2025 Outlook

The Cowboys struggled this past season and will be looking to drastically improve upon almost every aspect of their game. Though the team has offensive and defensive talent in Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons, both units did not perform to expectations last year.

From injuries to poor play-calling, the Cowboys never really looked like a team with as much talent as they truly do.

Heading into next season, the only glaring offensive weakness comes at the running back position. Last year, Dallas opted for a backfield of Rico Dowdle, Ezekiel Elliott, and Dalvin Cook and had the sixth-fewest rushing yards per game in the NFL (100.3).

With various interesting options available in the 2025 NFL Draft, including Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty and Ohio State Buckeyes RB Quinshon Judkins, the Cowboys have the chance to drastically improve the roster and add another elite option on the offensive side of the ball.
