Cowboys Lose Multiple Starters, Fans Criticize Dallas for Lack of Free Agency Activity

    Published on

NFL fans aren't holding back as they criticize the Dallas Cowboys for their lack of activity at the start of free agency.

The Dallas Cowboys are being heavily criticized for their lack of activity in free agency as the NFL‘s tampering period began on Monday afternoon. Despite the Cowboys having money to spend, they have yet to make a move.

Dallas has watched multiple starters reportedly sign with other teams and haven’t signed anyone for themselves, including two former starters joining division rivals in the NFC East.

Former Cowboys starting running back Tony Pollard signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the Tennessee Titans. Dallas will be looking for a new starter to lead its backfield, as some have speculated that Derrick Henry will sign with the Cowboys.

Defensive end Dorance Armstrong Jr. and center Tyler Biadasz stayed in the division, signing multi-year contracts with the Washington Commanders. Armstrong signed a three-year deal with a maximum value of $45 million. Biadasz signed a three-year, $30 million deal.

NFL Fans React to Cowboys’ Lack of Activity

As the Cowboys look to recover after a disappointing playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers, they’ll have to do so while filling holes at defensive end, center, and running back. Fans around the NFL didn’t hold back as they criticized Dallas for its lack of activity on Monday.

One X user mocked the Cowboys for being the only team in the NFL to wait for the legal tampering period to be over to make any deals.

“The Cowboys might just be the only NFL team that waits until it’s legal to negotiate.”

Another X user joked that the Cowboys front office is simply on vacation. Which could certainly explain their lack of activity.

“The Cowboys Jones Family is on vacation!”

It wasn’t all criticism regarding Dallas’ lack of activity. One X user pointed out how current Cowboys players were quick to support Pollard on social media and congratulated him on his three-year deal with the Titans in free agency.

“Cowboys players showing support for RB Tony Pollard on Instagram after it was announced he has agreed to terms with the Titans. Players include CeeDee Lamb, Markquese Bell, Donovan Wilson, and Malik Hooker.”

As some were quick to bash the Cowboys for their lack of activity, one X user pointed out that this should have been expected. They believe that Dallas will never be big spenders in free agency and that fans had unreasonable expectations.

“I don’t know why y’all do this to yourself every offseason. Dallas is never going to be big spenders in FA.”
