‘I Mean What Round Did Tom Brady Go?’ – NFL Fans React to Latest Shedeur Sanders Rumors

Football fans are divided about whether they believe Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders is a better prospect than Ole Miss QB Jaxton Dart.

In recent days, there has been some discussion surrounding the 2025 NFL Draft stock of Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders. During an appearance by NFL insider Tom Pelissero on the “Rich Eisen Show”, Pelissero noted how numerous NFL teams did not view Sanders as a first-round pick.

“I’ve already talked to people within the league who don’t have anything close to a first-round grade on the guy” said Pelissero.

This has led some individuals and fans to highlight some other QB names that may have been hidden under the hype and attention of Sanders, such as Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward.

Reaction To Latest Shedeur Sanders Rumors

NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho made clear on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Ole Miss starting quarterback Jaxton Dart was worthy of the same level of attention and hype as Sanders and Ward. This came after Dart’s impressive Bowl game performance.

“How is Jaxson Dart not being talked about like a top 10 overall pick? Ole Miss fans, what am I missing?? We only talk about Shedeur and Cam Ward, but this Dart kid is out here SLINGING IT!!” he explained.

In response, one individual outlined their belief that Sanders was not even a third-round pick in their view.

“Shedeur is not even a 3rd round pick. If he weren’t Deion’s son, he likely wouldn’t get drafted. NFL scouts know. Dart will be a top 10,” they said.

Meanwhile, one individual agreed with Acho’s take on the talent of Dart.

“Good question. He is a great QB,” they explained.

Finally, one user presented a different view by expressing how he did not agree with the hype surrounding Dart due to his performance against Florida.

“Watch his Florida tape,” they outlined.

But, despite Acho’s support of Dart, many came to the defence of Sanders as well.

“I mean what round did Tom Brady go?” asked one fan. Bold comparison, but the point still stands. Does the round really matter when it comes to a QB’s talent?

Other social media users pointed to the potential that teams might be downplaying their interest in Sanders in the hope that he slips a few rounds. “These rumors are probably being put out by certain teams, so they can sneak in and draft him.”

Shedeur Sanders and Jaxton Dart Draft Projection

Despite the tweet by Acho, Pro Football Network’s recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft projects that Sanders will in fact be selected No. 2 overall by the Tennessee Titans.

“The Will Levis experiment is almost assuredly at an end after two unsuccessful seasons. The former Kentucky product was a negative play machine in 2024, leading the league in sack rate and ranking second in interception rate.

Sanders’ accuracy would be a welcome change from the quarterback play that Nashville has seen the past two seasons. Sanders brings more of the playmaking ability that Levis has flashed, but without the frequent disasters that accompany Levis’ playing style.”

Meanwhile, in PFN’s recent 7-round Mock Draft, Dart was selected No. 140 overall by the Carolina Panthers.
