‘Could’ve Ended His Career’ — NFL Fans React as Travis Hunter Almost Gets Severely Hurt While Celebrating

Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter is expected to be a top-five pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft after he won the Heisman Trophy this season for his excellent play as both a wide receiver and cornerback.

He is also known for supporting his teammates, and he did that by traveling to watch the Polynesian Bowl. The Polynesian Bowl is an event held every year where 100 college football seniors play and have a final opportunity to show their talent to NFL scouts.

NFL Fans React to Travis Hunter Nearly Injuring Himself at the Polynesian Bowl

Although Hunter did not play at the Polynesian Bowl, he nearly got injured. While celebrating with one of his teammates, Hunter ran over to his teammates, looking to jump into the air and bang shoulders into each other.

However, Hunter was not wearing athletic shoes, and as a result, he slipped on the turf. He fell while his teammate was jumping and narrowly escaped his teammate falling on him after the awkward collision.

Luckily, Hunter was not injured and got up immediately. However, this did not stop NFL fans from reacting to the incident. One even said that he nearly ended his career before it started.

“That could’ve ended his career b4 it started Travis Hunter,” one fan wrote.

“Just like that a life could’ve been changed drastically,” one fan commented.

“This has gotta be one of the most comical things I’ve ever seen,” one fan added.

Fans continued to voice their opinions on the incident in the comments on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“NOT Travis but I’d say the Oregon coaching staff were puckered seeing their WR recruit landing like that,” one fan wrote.

“Man I am just glad neither one of them got hurt…..Scarry Moment,” one fan commented.

“Even the way Hunter avoids getting landed on while he’s falling is elite athleticism,” one fan added.

Hunter is projected to be one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Tennessee Titans have the first pick with the current NFL Draft order and seem unlikely to take him because they need a quarterback. Additionally, either the Cleveland Browns with the second pick or the New York Giants with the third pick are expected to pick whoever is leftover between Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward.

As a result, there is a good chance Hunter could be selected fourth or fifth overall by the New England Patriots or Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams already have young star quarterbacks and could use a skill position player like Hunter.
