The game was a battle from start to finish. The Dolphins left the first quarter with a 7-0 lead after an interception by defensive lineman Zach Seiler was returned for a touchdown.

However, the Titans fired back in the second quarter with 10 unanswered points, giving them a 10-7 lead at halftime. The first half was injury-filled, with Tyreek Hill being the major injury. He went down in the first quarter and was listed with an ankle injury. He returned in minimal action late in the game.

“Ya, Tyreek Hill is the MVP,” said one NFL fan on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Tua looked absolutely lost this entire game with him banged up.”

Both teams split the third quarter, scoring three points each. The fourth quarter began with the Titans leading 13-10. That’s when things flipped, though, with the Dolphins scoring 17 unanswered points. The turnovers were a muffed punt by Eric Garror and a fumble by Will Levis.

Coming off of a second Raheem Mostert rushing touchdown, the Dolphins led the game 27-13 with 4:39 remaining in the game. The Titans then went on to score 15 points in 2:46, with DeAndre Hopkins and Derrick Henry touchdowns.

The Dolphins then received the ball with 1:45 left in the game, only down by one. They then went on a six-play drive that ended in a Harold Landry sack on fourth down, giving the Titans the ball back with 20 seconds left.

For Miami, Tua Tagovailoa passed for 240 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He did, however, take five sacks, fumbling once. Raheem Mostert led the way on the ground with 21 rushes for 96 yards and two touchdowns. “We’ve got to do a better job finishing the game,” said Tagovailoa.

In his minimal action in the game, Hill caught four passes for 61 yards. “When you have someone like Tyreek go down, it does make it tough,” said Tagovailoa. Although he returned, Hill will get scans to determine if he will play next week. “When it actually happened, my first reaction was, ‘My ankle is gone,'” said Hill.

“I think it was a legitimate team loss,” said Dolphins head coach, Mike McDaniel. “We all get a share of the blame, in my opinion.”

Levis had an up-and-down performance, passing for 327 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He made plays when it mattered most, though, going 10-of-13 for 138 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter. “I’m just trying to be a better version of what I was yesterday,” said Levis after the game.

“Will Levis is a dog,” said another NFL fan on X. The performance was the first 300-yard performance of his career. “There’s a lot of guys out there that people aren’t real familiar with…but they’ll fight and compete, and that’s why I love them,” said Mike Vrabel, the Titans head coach.

According to Next Gen Stats, the Titans’ win probability was as low as 0.4% when they trailed the Dolphins 27-13 with 3:08 left in regulation. The win is the second-most statistically unlikely comeback in the Next Gen Stats era. Additionally, NFL teams down 14 points with under three minutes left had won zero of the last 767 games.

With the win, the Titans improve to 5-8 on the season, while the Dolphins fall to 9-4. The Dolphins do, however, still have the division lead over the Buffalo Bills by two games. The two will face off again in Week 18. The Titans, on the other hand, are still three games behind first place in the AFC South.
