The Pittsburgh Steelers brought in Russell Wilson and Justin Fields with the hopes of improving their QB depth chart. However, neither could live up to the fans’ expectations. The Steelers finished with a 10-7 campaign and a Wild Card playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Both Fields and Wilson will not be under contract with the Steelers for the 2025 NFL season. This led to the rumor mill circulating about them potentially shopping for Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence.

Fans React to the Steelers Inquiring About Trevor Lawrence
Last week, NFL social media personality Dov Kleiman shared a tweet about the Steelers approaching the Jaguars to attempt a potential trade for Trevor Lawrence. Mike Tomlin’s team needs a long-term quarterback, and Lawrence may be an ideal fit for the team.
“The #Steelers have reached out to the #Jaguars to trade for Trevor Lawrence, as per @RyanBurr,” Kleiman wrote.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts and perspectives on the Steelers utilizing the offseason to hunt a new quarterback for the team. “Just give Justin Fields a chance man,” one fan pleaded.
“Who’s he gonna throw the ball to,” another fan questioned.
“Would like for the Steelers to keep Fields in the fold and trade for someone like [J.J. McCarthy]. JJ won the starting job in Minnesota before getting injured and he’s got a lot of upside. Not sure if another average veteran NFL QB is the answer.,” this fan said.
That’s a great idea!
They probably want to move on and he has been a playoff caliber QB

“The Jags would never trade him,” one fan said.
“Lmao desperate to find a quarterback in any way possible,” this fan commented.
Lawrence has been with the Jaguars since being drafted first overall in 2021. Unfortunately, the 2024 season has not been kind to them, as they could only put up a 4-13 campaign while he recorded 2,045 yards and 11 TDs passing. A source from the Jaguars has also told ESPN that they have no interest in trading him away.
Lawrence Is Not Looking To Change Teams
On Monday, the Jaguars QB made an appearance on the “Up & Adams” show. During his interaction, Lawrence told host Kay Adams that he had no intention of leaving the team anytime soon.
“I wouldn’t say your hearts drop, but you’re kind of like, ‘What?’ Like, I’m thinking, ‘Well, I can’t get traded. I have a no-trade clause in my contract.’ So like, I would know if I was getting traded or if it was something that was gonna happen. I’d have to be on board with it, which I’m not. I don’t wanna leave Jacksonville, so I’m happy here, obviously. I’m not going to Pittsburgh.”
With that, the Steelers will probably move on from inquiring about Lawrence’s availability. However, it will be interesting to see how they address their quarterback woes in the offseason.
