‘Let’s Go Champ!!’ – NFL Fans React to Shedeur Sanders’ Humble Message for FCS Players That Got To Shine in Shrine Bowl

Football fans react on social media to recent support from Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Colorado Buffaloes quarterback and top NFL prospect Shedeur Sanders has given praise and outlined his appreciation for the FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) players who were able to show their skills this week ahead of the East-West Shrine Bowl. Sanders took to social media to highlight this, and as a result, college football and NFL fans alike have reacted to his kind words of encouragement.

Social Media Reacts to Shedeur Sanders’ Kind Message

Sanders released a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter) showing his respect for the FCS players in the Shrine Bowl.

“Thankful that FCS players had an opportunity to showcase the talent that’s on that level,” he said.

In response, one individual sent praise right back in the direction of Sanders.

“Let’s go champ!! ⌚️,” they stated.

Next, one person detailed how Sanders and Malik Nabers would be an amazing duo for the New York Giants.

“You and Malik nabers will be legendary,” they added.

Finally, one Las Vegas Raiders fan expressed their disappointment that the Raiders didn’t do enough to put themselves in position to draft Sanders, something they hoped would change in the coming months.

“Man, I hate that the @Raiders didn’t tank to draft you! Hey @PeteCarroll & @TomBrady, please trade up! We need a QB!!!,” they said.

Where Will Sanders Be Drafted This Year?

Sanders is widely expected to be one of the first names off the board in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. In fact, in Pro Football Network’s recent 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Sanders was selected No. 1 overall by the Tennessee Titans.

“The days of statuesque passers are a thing of the past. Shedeur Sanders is the evolution of the pocket passer. He’s athletic enough to get on the hoof and pick up first downs with his legs, but many might be surprised to hear he’s not close to the athlete his father was. Instead, he fits into the Geno Smith or C.J. Stroud-like mold.

“Sanders’ almost instantaneous release makes up for what is only a slightly above-average arm. It lets him consistently test tight windows, and his class-best accuracy helps his projection as a long-time NFL starter.

“Sanders’ pressure-to-sack rate and willingness to hold onto the ball could, and should, cause some concern. However, the context to that is he’s also operated on an NFL timeline for the past two seasons behind arguably one of the worst offensive lines in the country.”
