Shedeur Sanders may not have directly said it, but his latest comments have sent NFL fans into a frenzy. The Colorado Buffaloes quarterback, projected as a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, has hit headlines once again with a subtle yet telling statement at the Shrine Bowl.
Shedeur Sanders Drops Idea of Playing for Dallas Cowboys
While Sanders chose not to participate in the game, he was present at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, where he made a remark that has New York Giants fans buzzing.
“Being in this stadium is definitely fun,” Sanders said. “I know I’ll play here very soon against the Cowboys.”

Given that the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns — the teams holding the first two picks — don’t face Dallas next season, it doesn’t take a detective to figure out what team he was referencing.
NFL fans wasted no time speculating about Sanders’ potential landing spot. One user on X declared, “He wants to be a Giant so bad.”
Another chimed in, “For the Giants, it would be make or break on Sanders. My money is on break.”
One X user tweeted, “Him to the Giants is a real possibility 🤷♂️”
Another commented, “He knows he’s a Giant.”
“Let the giants trade up and snag him and save all Raider fans from his future mediocre career,” tweeted one more.
One more fan wrote, “it’s too obivous at this point.”
While some Giants supporters were all in on the idea, some were more skeptical, especially considering the team’s recent struggles in developing quarterbacks. The Giants hold the No. 3 pick in the draft, with head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen recently publicly expressing their admiration for Sanders.
Schoen said, “He’s a great kid, a really good personality, football smart. His dad is a football coach. It’s a little bit cliché, but he checks all the boxes of a [player with a] dad that is a football coach and the passion that he approaches the game with.”
With Deion Sanders as his father and coach, Shedeur has been groomed for the spotlight, making him an attractive prospect for a team in desperate need of a franchise quarterback. However, not everyone is sold on this year’s QB class.
Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy said that he doesn’t believe any of the 2025 prospects would have cracked the top six QBs of last year’s draft, which featured Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye.
.@seniorbowl Director Jim Nagy, in citing the historic nature of the ‘24 QB class, said of ‘25: “It’s certainly not last year. I don’t know if any of these guys would be in the top 6 last year.”

With more than months left before the 2025 NFL Draft, the speculation surrounding Sanders and the Giants will only intensify. If New York stays at No. 3, they could risk missing out on their preferred target. However, with the team still reeling from years of quarterback instability, the front office may be forced to leave their comfort zone and move to secure Sanders — assuming he truly wants to be a Giant.
