‘Used To Pray for Times Like This’ — 49ers Fans Hyped Over Major Christian McCaffrey Injury Update

    Published on

NFL fans on social media are excited after the 49ers confirmed that Christian McCaffrey will make his season debut in Week 10 vs. Bucs.

Christian McCaffrey is set to make his season debut in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The star running back has recovered from the Achilles issues he was dealing with and is ready to help the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers are coming off their bye week and are 4-4 on the season. Fans on social media were excited to hear about McCaffrey’s return as he is a fan favorite in fantasy football.

Fans Are Hyped for Christian McCaffrey’s Return

Many people drafted McCaffrey with the first overall pick in this year’s fantasy football drafts. Unfortunately, nobody knew about his injury as Kyle Shanahan didn’t rule out the possibility of the running back playing in Week 1.

Here’s how fans reacted to the news that McCaffrey will play this week:

“My fantasy teams have been waiting for this moment,” said one fan.

“NINERS MAKING A SUPER BOWL RUN,” added another fan.

“It’s about time! Hopefully, he looks like his old self,” wrote another fan.

“My fantasy football season might be saved!” added a fan.

The 49ers running back’s injury still remains a mystery to everyone. Nevertheless, now that he is back, San Francisco’s offense will look much better than it has so far.

Brock Purdy, who is set to sign a contract extension after this season, has not played up to his standards. It is largely due to the absence of McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, and Jauan Jennings.

In eight games this season, Purdy has thrown for 2,101 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, completing 64.5% of his throws. He has historically played better with McCaffrey on the field, and the upcoming game against the injury-ridden Buccaneers will be an ideal spot for the 49ers to build confidence for the rest of the season.

San Francisco Needs To Be Perfect for the Rest of the Season

Fortunately for the 49ers and their quarterback, McCaffrey’s return has come at the right time. The team is still in a position to win the NFC West; given their experience of playing big games in the last few seasons, they are still a Super Bowl contender.

However, they can no longer afford to play lousy football. The start of the season has been rough for the 49ers, as they are 1-2 in divisional games so far. To have a chance at winning the division, San Francisco needs to go 3-0 against the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, and Arizona Cardinals.

They also have to play against the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, and Miami Dolphins this season, but this type of schedule will get them ready for the playoffs.

Since Purdy will likely get paid after this year, San Francisco will inevitably be required to part ways with some of its key players on the team.

Shanahan has proven over the years that he is one of the best head coaches in the NFL, and now he has to be at his best to make a last run with this current 49ers team.
