‘Welcome Back,’ ‘Locked and Loaded’ — Patrick Mahomes Teasing Hollywood Brown’s Return From Injury Leaves Chiefs Fans Thrilled

    Published on

Patrick Mahomes and Hollywood Brown's latest activity on social media created excitement among the Chiefs' fans related to the WR's return.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are 12-1 on the season. Many people have criticized the way the defending champions have won many close games. However, the Chiefs should be praised for it, as they are without several key players.

The team’s marquee free agent signing, Hollywood Brown, got hurt in the preseason and has yet to make his debut. Moreover, Mahomes is also without his WR1, Rashee Rice, yet he has done a great job leading his team to the joint-best record in the NFL.

Brown is dealing with a shoulder injury but is close to returning. Both he and his quarterback recently hinted at his return on social media, which excited the Chiefs fans.

Fans React to Patrick Mahomes and Hollywood Brown’s Latest Hint

Mahomes and Brown posted an emoji of a clock on their X (formerly known as Twitter) accounts. The posts came after doctors cleared the wide receiver to practice, and we might see him on the field before Christmas.

Here’s how Chiefs fans reacted to the QB-WR duo’s posts:

“Welcome back, 5. Let’s rock,” said one fan.

Another fan added, “Can’t wait to see you out there.”

“Time for the lights to shine bright in Hollywood,” wrote a fan.

“It’s going to be a show, I can’t wait,” said another fan.

Brown signed a one-year, $7 million deal with the Chiefs in the offseason in hopes of boosting his value, similar to what JuJu Smith-Schuster did in K.C. a couple of years ago. The Chiefs’ offense was primed to have a big season with Brown, Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Travis Kelce, but the injuries ruined everything.

Kansas City had to trade for DeAndre Hopkins, which has worked wonders for their quarterback and the team. The Chiefs are currently averaging 23.7 points per game, which is a good number for a team that has historically played much better in the playoffs.

Mahomes Has Played MVP-Esque Football Since DeAndre Hopkins’ Arrival

Mahomes had a rough start to his season and threw multiple interceptions until the Chiefs traded for Hopkins. Since the veteran wideout’s arrival, the star quarterback has put up MVP-esque numbers.

In seven games with Hopkins, Mahomes has thrown for 1,800 yards, 14 touchdowns, and three interceptions, completing 68.2% of his throws with a passer rating of 98.4. Without Hopkins, the Chiefs quarterback threw eight interceptions in six games.

Getting Brown back will propel the Chiefs’ offense to newer heights. Having two speedsters in him and Worthy will open up the middle of the field for Hopkins and Kelce, both of whom have great chemistry with the quarterback.

Kansas City also has a great running game as both Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco will be relied upon during playoff time. The team’s defense has not been as good as last season due to the loss of Jaylen Watson, but as mentioned earlier, all the units on the team play significantly better in the postseason.

The Chiefs have lost just one game this year and could finish with the best record in the AFC. Having a bye and home-field advantage in the playoffs will be crucial for them, and not many will be surprised if they once again represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
