“Sue Me. Don’t Actually, Shoutout Brett Favre” – Fans React to Pat McAfee’s Hilarious Comment on College GameDay

Radio and media personality Pat McAfee has never been shy, and his comment from Week 1 on ESPN's College GameDay proved as much.

There may not be a faster-rising star in sports media than Pat McAfee. McAfee has made a second career out of being his raw, unapologetic self in front of a microphone no matter the situation. In Week 1 of ESPN’s College GameDay, McAfee continued that with a hilarious take on his offseason drama.

In a way that only Pat McAfee could, he turned a routine question response about a college pick into a way to make fans and his cast members laugh when he said, “Sue me. Don’t actually, shout out to Brett Favre.”

This comment stemmed from when Favre sued McAfee in February over his comments on The Pat McAfee Show about Brett’s involvement in a welfare case in Mississippi over millions of dollars in government money allegedly diverted to the rich and powerful.

According to the suit, McAfee called Favre a “thief” who was “stealing from poor people in Mississippi.” The lawsuit has since been rescinded, and there is no further legal action being taken against McAfee over the matter. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop him from making light of the situation.

Much like anything else on social media, McAfee fans and fans of self-deprecating humor took a liking to the comment.

The Pat McAfee Show Coming to ESPN This Week

McAfee fans were skeptical about the move at first, but — in his own unique way — he vowed not to change himself or the show with the big-time move to ESPN. That move becomes official this week. The Pat McAfee Show, the highly successful sports talk and discussion program, launches on ESPN platforms on Thursday, Sept. 7.

The show, by no coincidence, releases the same day as the 2023 NFL season kicks off as part of ESPN’s weekday lineup. The show, titled and led by McAfee — one of the most successful voices in sports media — will be simulcast from noon – 2 p.m. ET on ESPN, ESPN on YouTube, and ESPN+, with the final 2-3 p.m. hour airing on ESPN on YouTube and ESPN+.

McAfee’s Stardom Is About To Explode

ESPN is the biggest sports entity in the world. Now, a media personality who was able to build his platform from scratch is about to take his style and authenticity to the mainstream, with the feeling that the show will be a massive hit for McAfee and the network.

One thing we know for certain is that McAfee on our television all football season is going to be must-see TV.
