Reports emerged from a prominent NFL analyst and insider that numerous franchises did not have Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders as a first-round pick. Until this point in the NFL Draft process, many insiders, commentators, and mock drafts had Sanders as one of if not in some cases the top overall selection next year.
However, as is clear, it appears that some NFL franchises do not see the same hype that many fans do. As a result, football fans have taken to social media to discuss the now-trending report regarding Sanders’ draft stock.
What Did an NFL Insider Reveal About Shedeur Sanders’ Draft Stock?
NFL insider Tom Pelissero revealed that numerous NFL clubs did not give Sanders a first-round draft grade, which he revealed while appearing on “The Rich Eisen Show”.
“I’ve already talked to people within the league who don’t have anything close to a first-round grade on the guy,” he explained.
In response, one individual explained on X (formerly known as Twitter) how they agreed with Pelissero’s report.
“Good. He’s gonna be a bust,” they stated.

Another user outlined their stance and opinion that this year’s quarterback class was not strong overall.
“This QB class is the worst one in a long time,” they said.

However, one individual outlined how they remembered when Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson had a similar non-first-round narrative being spread about him, something that has turned out to be a major mistake by NFL executives.
“They said the same thing about Lamar,” they detailed.

Sanders’ 2025 NFL Draft Projection
Despite this report by Pelissero, Pro Football Network’s recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft from Sterling Xie had Sanders being selected No. 2 overall by the Tennessee Titans.
As Xie notes, “The Will Levis experiment is almost assuredly at an end after two unsuccessful seasons. The former Kentucky product was a negative play machine in 2024, leading the league in sack rate and ranking second in interception rate.
“Shedeur Sanders’ accuracy would be a welcome change from the quarterback play that Nashville, Tenn., has seen the past two seasons. Sanders brings more of the playmaking ability that Levis has flashed, but without the frequent disasters that accompany Levis’ playing style.”
While it remains to be definitively seen where Sanders is taken in next year’s draft, it is clear from Pelissero’s report that there appears to be some hesitation over the hype of Sanders.
