‘Can’t Even Lose Correctly’ — Fans React to New York Giants No Longer Having a Shot at No. 1 Pick in 2025 NFL Draft

    Published on

It's no surprise that the New York Giants couldn't win throughout the season, but not being able to lose in critical moments has fans further concerned.

The New York Giants’ win against the Indianapolis Colts was a “loss” that will cost them more than it appears. The Giant’s 3-13 record makes it obvious that they did a bad job this year, but they closed the season with arguably their biggest loss by giving their best offensive display and dropping the hammer on the Colts with a 45-33 final tally.

And after the Cleveland Brown’s Week 18 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens, the Giants are mathematically out of contention for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Fans Are Furious as Giants Face the Music After Their Latest Win

The Giants’ losing victory officially tossed them out of the race for the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and fans are furious and worried about the team’s future.

The top pick will now go to one of three teams: the New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, or Browns. Fans reacted to the news, claiming that the Giants couldn’t finish the job, whether winning throughout the season or losing in the critical moments.

On social media, fans were quick to voice their frustrations. Memes and tweets flooded timelines, with an agitated fan noting, “You know you’re a loser franchise…When you can’t even lose correctly.”

Another one talked about the unwanted win, writing, “Giants should’ve just laid down.”

One fan wrote, “The giants suck so bad they suck at sucking.”

A voice noted, “Giants can’t do anything right.”

A fan couldn’t stomach what happened; “Giants really screwed this up,” they said.

It struck a chord with another fan who commented, “Giants don’t want to be great. They even f***ed up a locked in opportunity to get the #1 pick. This can’t be real!”

The Giants, who were heavy favorites based on PFN’s Playoff Predictor thanks to their metrics and remaining schedule, slipped to fourth in the NFL Draft order after their Week 17, 45-33 win over the Colts.

This is a massive setback for the team as it now means that the Giants might not have the chance to secure their quarterback of the future. That advantage evaporated in a single afternoon as Drew Lock, Malik Nabers, and the Giants’ offense delivered its best performance of the season.

Lock threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns, while Nabers hauled in 171 receiving yards and two scores, bringing out the potential of a roster that has otherwise struggled all season. While it highlighted the talent of the team’s young stars, it also sabotaged their best shot at landing a franchise-altering draft pick.

Missing out on the first pick could complicate the Giants’ search for a long-term solution at quarterback. Teams like the Browns and Titans could target top QB prospects, and the Giants may now need to alter their strategy or risk settling for a second-tier option in April.

New York remains stuck in an awkward middle ground for now. They’re not quite bad enough to secure the top pick but nowhere near good enough to contend. It’s a scenario that raises serious questions about the team’s direction and whether they can rebound from yet another misstep in a frustrating season.
