Wide receiver Cooper Kupp was the hero of the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl run in 2021. He had a tremendous season, leading the league in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947), and receiving touchdowns (16). Kupp set an NFL record for receptions in the playoffs with 33 and was the Super Bowl MVP.
However, sports are fickle, and the Los Angeles Rams have informed Kupp that he is not in their future plans and that they intend to trade him.
NFL Fans React to Louis Riddick’s Comments About Cooper Kupp
With the news that Kupp is likely leaving the Rams after being a stable force on their roster since the 2017 season, the analysts on ESPN’s “Get Up” discussed where he could end up, with Louis Riddick commenting about how shocking it is that Kupp has become expendable to Los Angeles.
“He was the hero of their Super Bowl run. Now, all of a sudden, he’s expendable? Think about how shocking that sounds here.”
Fans reacted to these comments and the possibility of a Kupp trade.
“Everyone is expendable,” one fan wrote.

“That’s how it is that’s why players always cash in & or demand what you want when you’re in position because when they don’t want you they will throw you away!” one fan commented.
“He’s 31, missed 19 games over the last 3 seasons, and is averaging about 750 yards per over that span. What’s shocking about this?” one fan added.

Fans continued to discuss the news that Kupp is being shopped around the NFL in the comments on X.
“He was 28 when they won and will be 32 when the season starts (plus more expensive and less healthy). This isn’t that complicated or shocking,” one fan wrote.

“Denver the perfect landing spot in more ways than one. Kupp is a straight up hippie. He’d fit right in with Colorado culture. He’d LOVE IT there! What a security blanket he’d provide for (Bo) Nix. He and (Courtland) Sutton would be great together,” one fan commented.
“There were trade rumors this season lol, why is this shocking? Look at his games Dec on, terrible,” another added.

It is unclear what the timeline is for a Kupp trade or what the Rams will be looking to acquire in exchange. Kupp had an excellent 2021 season but has since struggled with injuries and hasn’t been nearly as effective.
The Rams’ Super Bowl window with quarterback Matthew Stafford won’t be much longer with him turning 37 in early February.
