Jerry Jones refuses to step down as Cowboys GM, sparking fan outrage. Is this the reason Dallas keeps falling short of Super Bowl glory?

Jerry Jones is back at it, deciding to stay as the Dallas Cowboys’ general manager, much to the dismay of many fans who can’t help but wonder if this is exactly why the team keeps stumbling. Instead of a fresh direction, it’s more of the same old Jerry show.

Fans are fired up, and not in a good way, with some already calling it the latest reason for the Cowboys’ never-ending cycle of disappointment.

Fans Slam Jerry Jones as He Refuses To Step Down as Cowboys GM

Jones is not stepping down as the Cowboys’ GM. No matter what happens with the coaching situation, he’s sticking around. This news hit hard, and NFL fans wasted no time voicing their frustration.

One fan bluntly commented, “This is why they keep failing.”

Another added, “Because of him is why the @dallascowboys have been irrelevant for 20 years 🤣🤣 keep up the [good] work Jerry lol.” (Tough but fair?)

Another comment mirrored that sentiment, stating, “This is why the Cowboys aren’t going to make a run.” Ouch.

As the X (formerly Twitter) firestorm continued, one user hit with, “Aaaaaand this is why we’re never going to win another Super Bowl anytime soon.” Clearly, Jones’ grip on the GM role isn’t winning over many of Cowboys’ faithful.

A more critical reaction called Jones out for being “obsessed with the spotlight,” while another fan noted, “He’s irreplaceable in his eyes.” You could almost feel the eye rolls.

It’s clear that Jones has made his position crystal clear on both his role and Mike McCarthy’s future.

Jones isn’t leaving any room for mystery. When it comes to McCarthy’s future, he’s made one thing clear: the hay’s already in the barn.

McCarthy, who’s been at the helm for a solid 49-34 run with three straight 12-win seasons, is now staring at a piteous 7-10 record. With his contract ticking down to Jan. 14, the pressure’s on – but it looks like Jones is unmoved.

During a chat on “105.3 The Fan,” Jones made waves with his cryptic, yet direct comment: “The hay is in the barn.” Essentially, the decision’s made.

He added, “I don’t think something would happen out here Sunday that would impact where we’re gonna be as we go forward.”

McCarthy’s fate is sealed, and no final-game drama is going to change that.

The question now: Will Jones’ “hay” be a season-changing decision, or will it lead to another big shakeup in Dallas? Either way, the barn door’s closed — and the Cowboys’ future is about to get interesting.
