Jared Goff wouldn’t have thought that his outstanding performance in Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season would rub off on the fans incorrectly. The Detroit Lions, led by head coach Dan Campbell and Goff at QB, put on an offensive clinic against the Jacksonville Jaguars, cruising to a 52-6 blowout victory at Ford Field.
NFL Fans Not Moved After Jared Goff’s Performance Against Jaguars
Goff was nearly flawless. He completed 24 of his 29 passes for 412 yards and four touchdowns. His passer rating was 158.3. The win secured Detroit’s ninth victory of the season in what could be its most complete performance yet.
However, despite the insane numbers, some NFL fans were quick to downplay Goff’s achievement, calling it “stat padding” against a subpar opponent. Social media erupted with criticism, with one fan writing, “Stat padding VS XFL team after throwing 5 INT’s last week I’m not moved.”

Another wrote, “80% of these stats were statpadded can we stop hyping up this bum.”
One NFL fan taunted, “This is what good teams do, they destroy weaker teams no problem.”
On X user tweeted, “not moved after that 5 INT game.”
“System qb and stinky jaguars,” said another.
“They really stat padding against a 2-win Jags team lmao,” one more wrote.
Critics also pointed to his abysmal five-interception outing against the Texans just a week earlier, where Goff’s passer rating plummeted to 59.7.
The Lions’ offense, however, deserves its flowers. Amon-Ra St. Brown shined with 11 catches and recorded 161 yards with two touchdowns to top it off. Wide receiver Jameson Williams and running back Jahmyr Gibbs added explosive contributions.

While fans debated the legitimacy of Goff’s performance, the Lions were confident in their ability to dominate weaker opponents. At 9-1, the Lions look every bit like NFC contenders heading into their Week 12 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Lions will need Goff to maintain consistency as the postseason looms. Whether Sunday’s performance silences his critics or gives way to further scrutiny, Detroit’s QB remains one of the league’s most polarizing figures.
