‘Fire Everyone’ — NFL Players, Analysts React to Giants Having To Watch Saquon Barkley Lead Eagles to Super Bowl With 3-TD Performance

Saquon Barkley put up another all-time postseason performance, going for 118 yards and three touchdowns as NFL fans piled on the New York Giants.

Saquon Barkley was on a tear during the 2024 regular season, becoming only the ninth rusher to tally 2,000+ yards. However, his recent performances through three playoff games have been a cut above even those standards.

The former New York Giants superstar’s performances this season have led to widespread critique of his former team across social media.

Barkley put together his third straight postseason game with 100+ yards rushing, finishing with 118 yards on just 15 carries against Washington in the NFC Championship Game.

The 27-year-old running back currently has games with 119, 205, and 118 rushing yards in the playoffs. Combined with his regular season yardage of 2005, he is only 29 yards shy of Terrell Davis’ all-time record of 2,476 rushing yards for a single NFL season (regular season and postseason combined).

With the Eagles waltzing into the Super Bowl, Barkley should be able to pass the Hall of Famer’s mark relatively easily. The No. 2 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft averages a mind-boggling 6.7 yards per carry in the 2024 playoffs.

Given his all-time great performances this season, NFL fans and analysts alike have united in calling out the Giants’ ineptitude. Barkley’s six-year tenure at MetLife Stadium saw him play only two postseason games, both coming in 2022.

Fox Sports analyst Chris Broussard had this to say: “So glad Saquon got to a good team so we can really see how good he is. Shame on you Giants. Had a Porsche & didn’t know what to do with him.”

ESPN analyst Mike Greenberg also went in on the Giants’ front office: “No one deserves this more than Saquon does. And no one deserves to have to watch it more than the Giants for how they treated him.”

Brad Galli shared the now-infamous clip of the Giants’ front office contemplating their future after letting Barkley leave in free agency.

Steelers legend Antonio Brown also shared the same sentiments: “Giants will regret getting rid of Saquon forever…”

Barkley will be celebrating his 28th birthday when the Super Bowl kicks off on Feb. 9. Regardless of the result of the game, he will forever be regarded as a Pennsylvania sports legend given his barnstorming performances this season. The running back has helped to really put the running back position on the map.
