Earlier in the week, ESPN analyst Marcus Spears and numerous other media commentators were discussing what the Dallas Cowboys will do with head coach Mike McCarthy at the end of the season. The Cowboys’ future coaching situation and the correct path forward were debated on the show “Get Up” — in response, social media users reacted by outlining how the show should be discussing more relevant NFL teams.
The Cowboys have had a disappointing season by all accounts and have fallen short of preseason projections as the campaign saw key players, such as Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons miss portions of the year.
Social Media’s Reaction to Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys Debate
“Get Up” posted a video to X (formerly Twitter) outlining the potential path forward for the Jerry Jones-owned club.
“[Spears] says Jerry Jones causes the problems between the Cowboys’ head coaches and their duties 👀,” they captioned the post.

In response, one social media user explained their frustration with the network and show still discussing the Cowboys despite being eliminated from playoff contention.
“Y’all…it’s week 18 and they’re eliminated. Why waste your oxygen?” they outlined.

However, another individual expressed their belief that everything Spears said was truthful and accurate.
“Truth,” they stated.

Why Are Fans Frustrated With the Cowboys’ Coverage?
As is clear, football fans are frustrated with the constant Cowboys coverage, especially in a season where they will not be in the playoffs and have been missing numerous key stars all year long.
With only one week remaining the NFL regular season and the playoffs right around the corner, it is understandable that fans want to see content regarding teams still relevant to this season. In addition, this week’s results present numerous different playoff scenarios for teams on both sides of the playoff bubble.
For example, the AFC has the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, and Cincinnati Bengals all vying for one playoff spot entering Week 18. However, one clear thing is that the Cowboys will not be one of the teams fighting for the Super Bowl later this season.
