‘Deion Still Looming’ – NFL Fans React to Eagles OC Kellen Moore Reportedly Interviewing for Dallas Cowboys Job

On Friday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was virtually interviewing for the Dallas Cowboys’ head coaching job. “America’s Team” and owner Jerry Jones are in the market for a new head coach after the historic franchise decided to not offer a contract extension to Mike McCarthy.

As a result of this report by Schefter, football fans have taken to social media to give their thoughts about who they think should be the Cowboys’ next head coach.

Social Media Reaction to Kellen Moore-Cowboys Interview

Schefter explained how Moore would be interviewing for the Cowboys’ head coaching vacancy later in the day on Friday.

“Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is interviewing virtually today for the Dallas Cowboys head coaching job,” he stated.

In response, one individual was optimistic about what a Moore reunion could mean for the Cowboys franchise if hired. Moore was previously with the Cowboys organization between the 2018 and 2022 seasons, as the quarterbacks coach before transitioning into the offensive coordinator role.

“Kellen Moore potentially returning to Dallas in a head coaching role is intriguing. His offensive mind could bring a fresh approach to the Cowboys’ game plan if the interview goes well,” they detailed.

Meanwhile, one person explained how they thought Moore should be focusing on the Eagles’ upcoming playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams this weekend.

“Should be preparing for the playoff game his current employer has in 2 days,” they said.

Finally, one social media user reminded everyone that Coach Prime was still a candidate who the Cowboys should be paying attention to.

    “Deion still looming!,” they highlighted.

Does Kellen Moore to the Cowboys Make Sense?

Moore becoming the next head coach of the Cowboys makes sense for everyone involved. First, the Cowboys know what Moore can bring to the table and the play-calling creativity he possesses. Furthermore, Moore knows what to expect from owner Jerry Jones from his time with the franchise.

That said, it is quite surprising to see Moore interview for the role a mere two days from the Eagles’ massive home playoff game against the Rams. Many would think that this close to a matchup, let alone a playoff one, the focus would be on the game plan and the current team he is employed by. As a result, there will undoubtedly be questions about Moore’s focus should the Eagles not perform well later this weekend.

With the NBC crew led by Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth on the call for the nationally televised contest, all eyes will be on how Moore and the Eagles perform amid the coaching rumors.
