‘Jerry Ain’t Paying That Buyout’ – NFL Fans React as Reports of Deion Sanders’ Increased Interest in the Cowboys’ HC Opening Emerges

There are rumors that Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders could join the Dallas Cowboys, and NFL fans are reacting to the reports.

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has been in coaching rumors for several months. Even while the season was still going on, there were many people in the football world discussing the possibility that Sanders could leave the Buffaloes to take an NFL job.

This continued even while Sanders said he was happy staying in Colorado. However, a report on Thursday indicated that Coach Prime would almost certainly take the Dallas Cowboys head coaching job if owner Jerry Jones offered it to him.

NFL Fans React to Report That Deion Sanders Would Take Dallas Cowboys Job if Offered

On Thursday morning, Cowboys insider Ed Werder reported that Sanders would almost certainly take the offer to become Dallas’ next head coach if it were offered to him. Jones is reportedly enamored with the idea.

While an official offer has not been sent to Sanders, it sounds like it could happen soon. However, an obstacle for this to happen is the $10 million buyout clause in Sanders’ contract with Colorado.

In response, NFL fans reacted to the possibility of Sanders coaching the Cowboys.

“Jerry ain’t paying that buyout,” one fan wrote.

“Do you think Jones would be willing to pay his buyout?” another fan asked.

“Prime is only smart to do this if he forces Jerry out of his GM power. No way he allows Jerry do what he has done with previous coaches. Prime will want complete control of that team,” one fan added.

“Best Marketing move ever … I question the football move though. Maybe a few more years of experience and he’s really helping those players in CO off the field,” another fan wrote.

“Do I think it is the best hire? No. But it is also far from the worst. There is truly something to the gravitational pull that is Prime. His may be the only star bright enough to shine through any shadow Jerry casts,” one fan commented.

“How on earth are they acquiring his kids in the draft given their position if he goes there? There’s no way he’s letting someone else draft his kids,” another added.

Regarding the last comment, if Sanders takes the job in Dallas, he is unlikely to be able to coach his son, Shedeur Sanders. Shedeur is projected to go within the top five, while Dallas drafts 12th. Meanwhile, safety Shilo Sanders is a projected late-round pick and, as a result, could end up in Dallas.
