On Monday, it was reported that Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders and Dallas Cowboys owner, president, and general manager Jerry Jones had a phone call to discuss the club’s vacant head coaching position. Since then, Coach Prime further elaborated on the discussion with Jones while speaking to ESPN. As a result of this, fans have started reacting on social media to the news and rumors.
The Cowboys are in the market for a new head coach after former boss Mike McCarthy’s contract was not extended beyond this year. Though it did look like McCarthy would return when Jones and the Cowboys declined the Chicago Bears’ request for an interview while still under contract, the messy situation concluded with both parties going in separate directions.
Social Media Reaction to Jerry Jones, Deion Sanders News
ESPN’s Adam Schefter released a post quoting Sanders, who gave his thoughts on the phone call with Jones.
“To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it’s intriguing. I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up, and process it, and think about it, it’s intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community,” Sanders stated.

In response, one user detailed how Coach Prime was going to Dallas, no matter how hard he tried to tell people otherwise.
“He’s going to Dallas…. don’t play with us, Deion,” they outlined.

Another fan explained how though Sanders expressed how he was committed to Colorado, he never did outright deny the Dallas head coaching rumors.
“Funny how he didn’t deny anything at all. Sounds like if offered he’s taking the Cowboys job,” they said.

Finally, one individual made clear that the Cowboys culture under Jones could be the reason Sanders decides to stay with the Buffaloes.
“‘But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community.’ Everything in Dallas is about Jerry Jones, he’s staying in Boulder,” they expressed.

Will Sanders Become the Cowboys’ Next Head Coach?
Only time will tell whether Sanders truly does become the next head coach of the Cowboys. For the team, Sanders could provide a spark in a locker room that looked unamused and uninterested at times this year. Though key injuries to star players like Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons all contributed, the Cowboys also fell well short of preseason expectations.
For Sanders personally, the Cowboys are the biggest market in the NFL. Though they did struggle this year, they have key pieces — namely Prescott, Lamb, and Parsons — all of whom are game-changing, elite players who any coach would love to have.
