‘Legendary Stuff,’ ‘Cold-Blooded’ — NFL Fans Lose Their Minds as DeAndre Hopkins Throws Shade at Titans With TD Celebration

    Published on

DeAndre Hopkins celebrated his first touchdown for the Kansas City Chiefs by taking a shot at the Tennessee Titans, and fans loved it.

DeAndre Hopkins and the Kansas City Chiefs played against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football” in Week 9. Hopkins was traded to the Chiefs a couple of weeks before, and he scored his first touchdown for the team against the Buccaneers.

The star wide receiver celebrated his touchdown by doing the dance from the movie “Remember the Titans.” The fans on social media loved Hopkins taking a shot at his former team.

Fans React to DeAndre Hopkins’ TD Celebration vs. Buccaneers

Hopkins is 32 years old but did not look like that on the field as he dominated the Buccaneers’ defense and Patrick Mahomes connected with him multiple times. He finished the first half with six receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown. Here’s how fans reacted to his touchdown celebration:

    “Cold-blooded,” said one fan.

“Recognized the movie. Didn’t realize the troll. This legendary stuff, lmao,” added another fan.

“Players be happy af when they leave a trash team,” wrote another fan.

“Still elite. Never washed,” said one fan about Hopkins.

The Chiefs are without Hollywood Brown, Rashee Rice, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Isiah Pacheco, yet their offense has looked good. Not only Hopkins but Travis Kelce also started the game well against the Buccaneers. The star tight end had seven receptions for 51 yards in the first half.

Patrick Mahomes and DeAndre Hopkins Have Their Best Games of the 2024 NFL Season

Mahomes has had a sluggish start to the season, but he played his best game of the year against the Buccaneers. He completed 34 of his 44 throws for 291 yards and three touchdowns with a passer rating of 116.8. Hopkins, in only his second game since being acquired, put up a massive stat line of eight receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

This was the Chiefs quarterback’s first game this season in which he did not throw an interception. Mahomes also suffered an ankle injury during the game, but he did not miss any snaps and led his team to another win.

Travis Kelce is another player who faced criticism this season for his lack of production. He also had a solid outing tonight, finishing with a career-high 14 receptions for 100 yards on 16 targets.

The Chiefs will play the Denver Broncos at home next week, and this game has been labeled as a trap game since the schedule came out. Denver is 5-3 on the season, and it will be interesting to see whether Kansas City will go 9-0 or suffer its first defeat of the year.
