‘Was His Dad Any Good?’ — NFL Fans Choose Jaxson Dart Over Shedeur Sanders Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft

    Published on

Jaxson Dart got a lot of attention for his performance in the Gator Bowl. Now some fans are saying he's better than Shedeur Sanders.

Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart improved his NFL Draft stock significantly with his performance against Duke in the Gator Bowl. He led the team to a 52-20 win over the Blue Devils with a dominant performance. He threw for 404 yards and four TDs in the Rebels’ win.

Before the game, he was not getting much draft attention, but now some NFL Draft experts have started to give some credit to Dart. David Syvertsen at Ourlads Scouting Services even said that he thinks Dart is the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft when facing pressure.

Fans Praise Jaxson Dart While Discrediting Shedeur Sanders

Many fans reacted positively to Syvertsen giving credit to Dart. However, part of the positivity towards Dart also resulted in some fans having some very pointed comments that were directed toward Shedeur Sanders.

“Sure, I guess talent matters some, but was his dad any good?” one fan wrote.

“The best QB in the class, but not hyped as Sanders or [Cam Ward], but better than both,” one fan commented.

“When Sy speaks on the draft you had better listen up,” one fan added.

Some fans clearly think Dart deserves more credit while claiming Sanders is getting more hype as the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders. However, some fans responded to Syvertsen by questioning Dart’s abilities.

“I watched a lot of Dartt this season. He could not execute the 2 minute offense with the game on the line. [Lane] Kiffins offense is dink & dunk. Tough for me to see his processing. Good athlete and arm, but a late rd pick for me,” one fan wrote.

“Interesting. Bleacher Report eval says the exact opposite re: pressure. Not saying one vs. the other is right/wrong. It’s just fascinating how QB evals can be interpreted polar opposite from one another and vary so drastically depending on the evaluator,” one fan commented.

“Funny, just saw something that said direct opposite. This is why it’s an in exact science evaluating QB’s,” one fan added.

It will be interesting to see how things develop as the final bowl and College Football Playoff games are played in the coming weeks. Once those games are done, draft experts will start to look closer at the film and get a better idea of who they think the best quarterbacks in the class are. However, as things stand now, Shedeur Sanders is still looked at as one of the best options.
