NFL Fans Blast Aaron Rodgers as Jets Crash Out of Postseason Contention

Rodgers, who joined the Jets with high hopes, endured a nightmare debut season in 2023 when he suffered a season-ending injury just four plays into the first game. In his second year in the Big Apple, fans hoped for a change in fortunes for the franchise, but it was the same old story.

The Jets fell to 3-10 after their latest defeat to the Dolphins. Despite standout performances from Davante Adams (nine catches, 109 yards, and one TD) and Garrett Wilson (seven catches and 114 yards), New York’s struggles persist. Fans didn’t hold back their criticism. One wrote, “Worst team in all of sports 😂😂😂.”

Another fan joked, “Breaking: Rodger’s gets David Bhaktiari to come out of retirement and sign with Jets for $69 million.”

One X user wrote a sarcastic tweet, saying, “Oh not a good news New York Jets being eliminated oh my God I’m sad not happy.”

“I don’t ever want to hear ‘Rodgers is better than [Tom] Brady’ ever again. Give Brady Davante Adams & Garrett Wilson his final season and he ain’t going 8-9,” one user tweeted.

One NFL fan declared, “The Jets are arguably the worst sports franchise in the history of major US professional sports.”

One X user commented, “I’m sure Rodgers will blame this on someone else. Never gonna take responsibility.”

The loss to Miami is the Jets’ ninth straight defeat in Florida. The game went to overtime after Jason Sanders hit a 52-yard field goal with seven seconds left in regulation. Rodgers posted solid numbers — 339 passing yards and a touchdown — but it wasn’t enough to avoid a fourth straight defeat.

Injuries have compounded the Jets’ woes. They played without key contributors like Pro Bowl cornerback Sauce Gardner and leading rusher Breece Hall. Linebacker Jamien Sherwood, who recorded 18 tackles, was a bright light for Jeff Ulbrich.

Fans call for a rebuild, and NFL insider Ian Rapoport suggests that change may be on the horizon. The Jets are reportedly eyeing a young quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, with Rodgers potentially serving as a “bridge starter.”
