Patrick Mahomes is set to receive another weapon in his arsenal. Veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is now a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, and NFL fans are upset over this development.
The Tennessee Titans were willing to offload their veteran WR, and the Chiefs will bolster their wideout bench as a result. However, fans of various teams united in calling out the Chiefs and Mahomes for this trade.
Patrick Mahomes and DeAndre Hopkins Combination Could Spell Danger for Other Teams
Reports began pouring in early Wednesday morning of the Chiefs making another addition ahead of the trade deadline on Nov. 5. ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter took to X (formerly Twitter) to report Hopkins’ landing spot from Nashville to Kansas City.
“It’s happening: Titans and Chiefs are working to finalize a trade that would send WR DeAndre Hopkins to Kansas City, league sources tell ESPN,” Schefter reported.

Mahomes Could Put Slow Start Behind Him With Hopkins by His Side
Despite being 6-0 on the season, the superstar QB has experienced a slow start. With several young players, Rashee Rice’s injury put a dent in the Chiefs’ WR depth. Thus, with Hopkins’ addition, he should help out Mahomes a ton.
This season, Mahomes has only managed six touchdowns for 1,489 yards, to go along with eight interceptions to this point — well below the two-time NFL MVP’s average. However, the bolstering of the receiver bench with a veteran could alleviate several of the Chiefs’ offensive issues.
Kansas City will be on the road in its Week 8 fixture against its divisional rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders.
