Fans go wild as cameras captured Shedeur Sanders sharing a handshake with New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll!

NFL Fans Declare Shedeur Sanders A Giant

Cameras captured Sanders sharing a quick but buzzworthy handshake, or “dap,” with New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll during Saturday’s practice in Frisco, Texas. The moment has ignited fan speculation about Sanders potentially joining the New York team, who hold the No. 3 overall pick in April’s draft.

The handshake didn’t just spark a comment fest—it made X declare that the Shedeur is already a Giants player. One fan wrote, “that dap up was clean i’m ngl.”

Another said, “Them boys locked in 😭.”

“I want Shedeur in Ny because the AFC so stacked and I want to see him compete with the new wave of young guns in the NFC. Ex. Washington, Carolina, falcons, and Minnesota. All young guns starting the new era of great QBs coming after. Lamar, Patrick, burrow and Josh,” commented one more.

One X user tweeted, “Hard ahh handshake 🤝. Definitely locked in.”

“That sh*t too clean lol,” tweeted another.

“🙏 I hope we get him,” pleaded one fan in the comments.

Sanders has the stats to back up the hype, in addition to being the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders. In his senior season, he completed an incredible 74% of his passes for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns, ranking second nationally. He helped Coach Prime post a 9-3 season after the forgetful 4-8 season in 2023.

These numbers are even more impressive, considering Colorado’s offensive line allowed 43 sacks, although considerably less than in the 2023 season when Shedeur was the most sacked quarterback in college football.

NFL teams, including the Titans, Browns, and Giants, have all shown interest in Sanders, but his meeting with Daboll and GM Joe Schoen has the rumor mill burning the midnight oil.

“The Giants, and specifically head coach Brian Daboll, spent significant time yesterday morning with Shedeur Sanders. The Colorado QB is participating in the East-West Shrine Bowl this week. First practice is later this morning. Sanders could be an option at No. 3 in the draft,” reported Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

Daboll desperately needs a franchise quarterback after letting Daniel Jones go. Sanders could be the answer to the Giants’ woes after their 3-14 season. Another intriguing option for the New York-based franchise is Miami’s Cam Ward, who is currently the favorite to be the No. 1 pick.

Sanders’ PFN’s 2025 NFL Draft Projection

In Pro Football Network’s recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft completed by Derek Tate, Sanders was selected No. 1 overall by the Titans.

As Tate notes, “If you were to poll Tennessee Titans fans on whether they would like to see another year of Will Levis under center, I would venture to guess the vast majority of the fan base likely wants to see the team go in a different direction. Personally, I’d be shocked if Brian Callahan isn’t willing to jump at the opportunity of bringing in a new face of the franchise under center.

“Shedeur Sanders threw for 7,364 yards and 64 touchdowns over his two years at Colorado, but his interceptions more than tripled from his junior to senior year.

“Sanders is far from a perfect prospect, with some limitations in his arm talent and eyebrow-raising responses to the media when things haven’t gone well in Colorado, but his flashes of processing, anticipation, and off-script creation all project favorably to competently running an NFL offense.”

Sanders clearly has the ability to make a difference at the professional level and be the missing piece the Titans have been looking for at quarterback. Meanwhile, as evidenced by his social media posts, Sanders is embracing the criticism from the fans and media ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
