Earlier in the week, during a Colorado Buffaloes practice, Shilo Sanders jokingly hinted that there was a possibility that his brother, top prospect Shedeur Sanders, could be drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2025 NFL Draft. In the video, Shilo can be heard detailing how the Falcons could trade up to do it.
Though the Falcons drafting Shedeur Sanders is highly unlikely, given that the organization drafted Michael Penix Jr. last year with the No. 8 overall pick, it does further show how numerous teams could be in play and how unpredictable the NFL Draft can be. As a result of Shilo’s comments, social media has been discussing where the best landing spot is for the Buffaloes’ starting quarterback.
Where Does Social Media Believe Shedeur Sanders Will Be Drafted?
One social media user on X (formerly known as Twitter) believes that the Dallas Cowboys are the best landing spot for Sanders, as they think Dak Prescott’s best playing days are behind him.
“Bro’s best bet will be the Cowboys cause Dak is done lowkey,” they stated.

Another was quick to highlight how they thought that the Las Vegas Raiders were the best fit for Sanders.
“I’m thinking Raiders ..,” they explained.

Finally, one individual explained their desire to see the Falcons stick with Penix as their quarterback and not draft Sanders.
“penix clears shedeur and it’s not even close,” they detailed.

Sanders’ 2025 NFL Draft Projection
As of now, Sanders is expected to be one of the first names taken off the draft board come next April. While it remains to be definitively seen where and when he is selected, Pro Football Network’s Alex Kennedy projects that he will be chosen No. 1 overall by the New York Giants in his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft.
As Kennedy notes, “PFN’s Playoff Predictor not only projects the playoff picture and Super Bowl winner, it also predicts which team will land the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
“Factoring in each team’s record, metrics, and remaining schedule, our model gives the New York Giants the best odds to pick No. 1 overall (43.2%), and they currently hold the top selection. New York has remaining games against the Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons (road).
“By selecting Shedeur Sanders, the Giants land their quarterback of the future to pair with Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy Jr. Arm strength and accuracy are two of the most distinct selling points on Sanders’ tape. He generates easy velocity and has a degree of off-platform freedom. And while his mechanics aren’t perfect, he can find uncanny ways to hit targets with good placement and touch.”
