On Feb. 18, X user MLFootball shared that allegedly NFL evaluators believe Texas A&M Aggies edge rusher Shemar Stewart may drastically jump up the 2025 NFL Draft board similar to Jacksonville Jaguars pass rusher Travon Walker a few years ago when he went No. 1 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft.

As a result, NFL fans started discussing where and when they think Stewart will be drafted in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

Social Media Reaction to Shemar Stewart’s NFL Draft News

MLFootball claimed that the talented defensive player could have the “highest RAS Athletic score of all time at the Combine.”

“🚨NEWS: #NFL talent evaluators believe Texas A&M Shemar Stewart could fly up draft boards similar to Travon Walker who went 1st overall,” the post highlighted.

In response, one individual detailed their belief that Stewart would be a member of the Dallas Cowboys franchise next year.

    “He’s a Cowboy,” they said.

However, one person sarcastically questioned how well Walker’s rising up draft boards worked out for the Jaguars organization.

“That worked out well for Jacksonville,” they added.

One fan called on Philadelphia, an organization that is well known for prioritizing athletic trench depth, saying, “Future Eagles.

Another fan called for the NFL to “let him stay where he’s at please,” urging for Stewart to remain in Texas with the Houston Texans.

Although he had a poor rookie campaign, Walker has been dominant for the Jaguars since then. He has recorded back-to-back seasons with over 10 sacks, a truly impressive statistic.

Shemar Stewart 2025 NFL Draft Projection

Despite some people online highlighting the Cowboys as a potential destination, Stewart was not drafted by America’s Team in PFSN’s latest seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft. Instead, Stewart was selected in the second round, No. 42 overall by the New York Jets.

“When you look at the Jets’ roster, their pass rush stands out as an area that needs reinforcement, especially with Haason Reddick likely to leave. Even if Will McDonald IV and Jermaine Johnson II continue to develop, they still need to add depth. However, what makes Shemar Stewart a perfect fit for them is that he can drop inside as a rusher up the middle on passing downs.

“That level of versatility is perfect for [head coach Aaron] Glenn’s defense and will allow Stewart to be a useful role player as a rookie. His size and explosiveness mean he could be more than just a role player, especially as he can also drop into coverage at times, which is valuable if he is going to play outside on a five-man front at times.”
